Do "chicks" really dig scars?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Well weekend reflection is kicking in early for me and i'm genuinely interested to know people's thoughts. I have scars on my arm and body which i can keep hidden in shirts, but i have probably been more self conscious about them than i should in the past.
Are people put off? Or are people intrigued when you meet someone with scars?
Thoughts welcome |

Scars are scars and are part of a person I want to get to know. If they feel they need to share a story then cool. If I feel confident that I can ask, I will ask. But more than not I don’t think they are an issue.
But I thought chick dig money..... |

T has a scar on his neck following a biopsy for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. At the time it was a real mess but has healed so well most people wouldn’t know it was there. I find them interesting & the work of medical staff can be an art

They tell a story.
I have a large scar on my forearm filling an accident as a child. Put my arm though a glass panel
On a door when I pushed the door open.

I have a large scar on my stomach and one down the centre of body from my chest to my belly button, that one is covered by my body hair mostly, I've never had anyone put off me by them, but I'm still here living and breathing |

I’ve got a fair few small ones on my hands from fixing my cars in my younger years....there’s no pain quite like spanner slipping off with force behind it on a cold winter morning and raking your fingers across the castings on an engine block.
Also two knuckle scars from having a row with housemates many years ago and punching a door.
There’s just about one left on one of my legs when I fell over at school (really young) and got a decent cut.
Also faint ones on the bridge of my nose and above my right eyebrow from having a bad reaction to the anaesthetic from my vasectomy as it metabolised. I blacked out and smashed my face off my kitchen floor. |

They don't bother me, they make up the journey of who you are and how you got to now.
I also have a large one on my leg from surgery so I'd be a hypocrite if I turned others away for having them |

"Wow, overwhelmingly positive reactions, thanks guys. What was i worried about? "
Has anyone ever said horrible things about them or are you just self conscious?
They may put some people off but that's not a negative thing, just means you're not compatible.
Unless they are arseholes about it and surely not really who you'd want to meet, so still a positive that you won't be meeting them. |

I've not seen a scar on someone yet that would put me off them. Just another one of those things that makes us all unique.
I have one across my neck from surgery 20 years ago. It's faded a lot now but still noticeable. It bothered me more when I was younger but not so much now.

Scars are just life tattoos, I have scars from operations, stretch marks from pregnancies and scars from accidents. I am happy to talk about them if a lover pointed them out and was interested to know about me.
I am not put off someone for having scars, sometimes they look really sexy because its the person that I am attracted to and therefore the slightest thing about them makes me more attracted.

I suppose it's me being self conscious. I can't hide them when it gets hot and it used to bother me walking through town and you'd catch people looking and then quickly look away. Quite uncomfortable at times. |

"I like scars, my friends husband has a scar on his face after a chain saw accident. And he absolutely rocks it.
Think they are unique and tell a story of strength of an individual. "
I have a scar on my leg from a chainsaw. |

I have a few scars from playing rugby but they faded over time... A Z scar from surgery to a snapped tendon in foot is still noticeable but everyone has life scars and not a issue at all |

"I rock my scar on my stomach, depending on who's asking it was the result of a bar fight as a teenager or pyloric stenosis when I was 4 weeks old "
This made me laugh, I often tell people mine was from a shark attack especially when sitting on the beach |

I'm indifferent to scars. I think cuz they are just so common. I have a couple of big ones myself but never feel self conscious as I always think they won't bother anyone. |

"If you called me "chick" you'd end up with another scar..
I'll try to remember not to then chick "
Thanks.
It's a pet hate and an instant turn off for me, but a bit difficult to say to someone, please don't call me hun, babe, sweetheart, sweetie, darling and so many others. I've got a name, it's easy to say, only 3 words. |
