There and to the left a bit |
None of them - would rather either use the restaurants own service or go and collect after hearing that although the price to me may be the same the percentage the likes of Just Eat etc take off the business means they barely make a profit each time someone goes via Just Eat or similar.
In fact one local take away told me they could afford to give me a bigger discount and they'd still make more if I went direct to them |

It’s 14% and the 50p admin fee we as customers pay on top. They have a choice to use it or not. A lot of business have actually thrived especially through lockdown. Not sure where you got your thoughts but I’d check it out |

"I’ve only used Just Eat in the past "
Same - but I rarely get takeaways.
Not only are they stupidly expensive- by the time you've waited for it to arrive you could have made it yourself - and it would be better |

I did use Just Eat once, they claimed they could not find my house so returned food to takeaway. A member of takeaway staff then delivered the food to me no problem.
I now collect whatever takeaway food I require. |

While I agree that they *have* helped businesses during lockdown and that businesses *do* have the choice to use them or not - where those local smaller businesses offer their own delivery or a collection service I'd still rather go direct and give them 100% of their profit rather than a smaller percentage of it.
14% of the cost may not sound a lot at face value but if a business has a profit margin of say 25% (which is reasonable) that is obviously significantly reduced by that 14%.
I'm not against these services, and they provide a valuable local service undoubtedly, especially where they offer delivery from some of the larger corporate brands (who undoubtedly negotiate a better deal with them) - I'd just rather support local independent businesses by going direct where I can. |

I use Deliveroo for food from local restaurants & takeaways, plus grocery deliveries, along with prime.
Just eat used a couple of times but they are useless if something goes wrong and slow to refund so don’t use them. |

None. The only delivery takeaway I use is the local kebab shop and I use their website.
I'm a lazy fat person. If I drive to McDonald's and line line for the drive through is too long I don't go there and end up getting something from the garage |

"None. I'm still keeping these businesses in the morally dubious category, until I learn otherwise "
And many of their ads are so appalling to me, I can only assume that they don't want to attract someone like me |

Exactly this. I refuse to order anything through those companies, I phone/order online straight to the take away themselves, all my local ones have their own delivery guys and they keep all their profits |

"And yes.. I can knock up a tasty thin crust pizza for pennies.. biggest rip off is pizza companies
Who was complaining Domino's had stopped offering anchovies, Essex Tom?!"
100% correct.. I can knock up a dough but then it needs time to prove etc.. then I need my passata and fresh mozzarella. I find grated mozerella goes mouldy very quickly once opened and don't keep a ready supply. During the first lockdown especially it was very difficult to get the flour and at one point the tinned tomatoes and passata were all gone due to panic buying. So yes I have used dominos, pizza hut, etc etc..
And yes, I still say that it is an extortionate rip off..
That said.. I have a few quid so will never break the bank of Essex Tom... |

A selfless act to bolster the economy. Absolutely top notch, Tom |
