My ultimate objective would be to acquire an unusual breed of dog called a Korthal's Griffon, a rare breed that is similar to a German Wire-haired Pointer.
Dogs are great companions; always delighted to see you, and provide the motivation to get out for a walk.
From my experience dog owners are generally friendly, caring and more...

I do agree on the companion part tho op. Mine has helped me through some bad days and I love her to bits. Annoying on times but she’s too awesome to stay mad at for long  |

As a child growing up we had an Alsatian called Sheba, I myself do like Jack Russell's and I had one for 16 1/2 years  I have always liked the character and bottle of this small breed. |

I don’t have a dog, I don’t get n too well with animals but we did have a Rottweiler as family pet, he was a big baby... if I ever got a dog which I won’t I’d get a Rottweiler they have such loving personalities xxx |

We have a gorgeous little bedlington. She’s trying to tap me up for an Italian greyhound and C_inese crested aswell.... so next week we will probably have them aswell... the skinny, hairy crew |

I breed Italian mastiff they are the best all round dog breed I have ever come across. I've had rottweilers and pointers short haired and long, nothing beats a cane corso |

Had a fantastic 3 hour walk today and every dog owner I met chatted about the dog's. Absolutely agree dog owners are usually chilled out and chatty.
I have mixed breed rescues that were older when I got them. Rescues are my favourite dog's. |

My old boss had an Italian greyhound, petrified of everything and accident prone!
She was a cute diddy thing tho and once she warmed to you was proper snuggly.
C_inese crested are in my top 10, not the powder puff tho. |

staffies had 2 (rescue)
English bull terrier had one (rescue)
british bulldogs have one (rescue)
american bulldogs have 2 (rescue)
me and hubs love any of the bull breeds such loving dogs loyal and always rescued as there are far too many in shelters people getting them as pups then when they become abit more hard work they dump them poor things ...no such thing as a bad breed just bad owners

I just remembered, watching 2 bullies together, he used to headbutt! The only breed he ever did it to was his own, and literally noggin to noggin, nowhere else on their body. Like 2 bloody rams nutting each other! Has yours ever done that? |

I've had many breeds over they years and grew up with labradors. Mum has 2 labs now and I have a rehome patterjack (little shit tried to steal my lunch earlier) and a rehome parson. And we have a cocker pup on order. Cant wait.

I have a border collie and a cardigan corgi and love them both, but I would love a newfoundland.
Not too keen on my neighbour's teacup chihuahuas which are snappy vicious things but it's really all a matter of how they were brought up I guess. |

Staffy. I lost my elderly blue boy to a brain tumour earlier in the yr, my other dog (jrt x) was so depressed, wouldn't eat, wouldn't play, kept fucking howling so now he has a little brother, who is almost as big as him at 12 weeks old. |

I adore Jack Russell Terriers and they are fiesta, bolshy, independent, cuddley and never far from mischief
My least favourite are the designer breeds pugs, French bull dogs etc, but that is down to their immense respiratory health problems due to irresponsible breeding |

The mixed breeding is phasing out a lot of previously undesirable traits, physical and hereditary so there are plusses to it |

We have an Italian Spinone. We've always had dogs but she's the first of this breed we've ever had. Prior to her we had a Lab/Collie Cross who was a wonderful family dog and therefore a difficult one to replace. The Spinone is very different in nature but adorable and probably as good a dog as we could have hoped for. She's a joy and oozes love of life. Would make a terrible guard dog though! |

I have a penchant for bull breeds...I have a Bullmastiff, used to have a Neapolitan, and would rescue a staffy any day of the week.
I would absolutely love a bloodhound though.
I like all dogs, but definitely prefer to own big dogs. |

I personally would only ever own a bull breed or mastiffs. Currently have two American bulldogs, love them to bits but they’re a nightmare and not very well bred dogs. I’d love a Dogo Argentino but sadly they’re banned here so can’t get one. |

Their chubby little faces and teefies and rolls and attitudes.. They're just like meeeee.
Honestly i see them and turn all giddy to mush and it takes every ounce of self restraint not to go and ask their owner if i can please have cuddles

I love most breeds of dog but Old tyme bulldogs are my favourite, all the squishy smooshy face of a British but much healthier, my two are athletic and stubborn but I love them.
Least favourite has to be Dalmatians, too high strung and needy. |

My favourite breed is rescued Watching a dog blossom is such a special thing. There are also so many dogs that need homes while people continue to breed more into existence unnecessarily.
The bond I have with my boy is something I didn’t think I could share with someone non-human. We do nearly everything together, he even wants to climb when I do.
I don’t have a least favourite breed but I get most irritated by the humans of small dogs who tend to be the most vocal about the size of my furry friend whilst doing nothing to curb their own fluffs incessant barking or “cute” aggression. |

My favourite breed is rescued Watching a dog blossom is such a special thing. There are also so many dogs that need homes while people continue to breed more into existence unnecessarily.
The bond I have with my boy is something I didn’t think I could share with someone non-human. We do nearly everything together, he even wants to climb when I do.
I don’t have a least favourite breed but I get most irritated by the humans of small dogs who tend to be the most vocal about the size of my furry friend whilst doing nothing to curb their own fluffs incessant barking or “cute” aggression. "

I have an English Springer spaniel she's as mad as a box of frogs, very jealous of the hubby is to try sit next to me or kiss me she jumps in the way,and is always always hungry lol |

The mixed breeding is phasing out a lot of previously undesirable traits, physical and hereditary so there are plusses to it"
it also creates a lot of new problems. I was involved in a rescue that gained a litter of pom-skis. Pomeranian x husky. They all that congenital heart defects and hernia issues, caused by crossing such different sized breeds. |

My old one used to stick his head up the sleeve of my coat and get stuck. He didn't learn.
He was right naughty tho and nothing food wise was safe. He would steal things soooo slyly!

I just remembered, watching 2 bullies together, he used to headbutt! The only breed he ever did it to was his own, and literally noggin to noggin, nowhere else on their body. Like 2 bloody rams nutting each other! Has yours ever done that? "
Yeah she has lol there's a boy bully in the village & they headbutt & shove their noses in each others ears...its very strange. Any other breed of dog is straight to her bum lol

I've known a lot of dogs as we always had them growing up. I've had Labradors which are nice natured and intelligent, Lakeland terriers which are nice but scrappy things, a Staffy I had for 12 years who was the best dog and friend I ever had, and I now have a Jug I rehomed before Christmas who is also an awesome little dog. He's a cross between a Pug and a jack russell, so if he looks at you square on he looks like a pug, but from a side profile he's got a snout and his eyes don't bulge like the poor overbred pedigree Pugs, so he can breath fine and he's very clever, energetic and mischievous from his jack russell side. |

When I was 6 and ma Mam was in hospital, there was an Irish Lady across the road that used to babysit me, she had a Black Labrador, and also fed a local fox. The fox would come in some nights and they would both snuggle up in the same basket. It was so cute |

I had collies for over 20 years until last year when I rehomed a Dalmatian. He’s fantastic very different but great to exercise with. Just wish he wasn’t a hunter but that’s the breed I suppose. |

Today I met a couple with an enormous four month old pup, an Ovtcharka, that will eventually grow into one of the largest dogs on the planet, and will top 100kg.
When the Berlin Wall existed, the East Germans had 9,000 of them guarding this edifice.
In the Caucusus mountains these are guardian dogs that live with, and guard sheep flocks and goat herds.
These are colossal dogs, capable of fighting off bears, wolves, jackals and human predators.
Curiously, they have long lives because they are an ancient basal breed that has not been mismanaged through inbreeding. |

Does anyone know if Presa Canario dogs are classified as a dangerous breed, and therefore banned?
I have been unable to find a definitive answer.
They are a mastiff (molosser) dog from the Canary Islands. |
