We all know the curse of fab, especially the forum, is distance. But does it really bother you?
Are you a person who would go as far as needs be to meet the person you've made a connection with?
Are you determined to stay within your local area?
Would you be willing to split the distance for a social or go all the way just for a chat and a brew?
What's the furthest you have travelled just to see someone and would you do it again?
On the flip side, how close is too close? Do you have a minimum safe distance?

Honestly I don't blame you at all for that one. I'd fly to Texas anyway. |

Not at all I can’t wait to head north of the wall to meet a gorgeous lady. The planning and countdown is exciting and I’ll be counting down the days and hours until we meet. The chats and plans we are making are adding to the excitement too |

I used to have a minimum distance from my house as there was such a thing as too close.
Furthest distance? Nope! I love driving and thought nothing of a few hours travelling, even just for a coffee and chat.
To me, it’s always been about connections, not convenience. For the right connection, I would happily travel any distance, which is why I’m where I am now! |

I'm not too worried about distance.
For regular meets it would need to be within an hours drive, but I wouldn't say no to a distant one of it was someone I liked and an area I wanted to visit. I'd just make a little holiday of it |

up a bit, right a bit...that's the spot |
For someone I'd connected with I'd happily travel, I love an adventure, especially if it's somewhere I've never been before ...a social only would be presumed on a first meet, with things only progressing if both of us were happy with that, and I wouldn't be meeting anyone who wouldn't be happy with that presumption.
I've caught a plane before, and had someone drive around 200 miles to see me (probably nearer to 250 after I accidentally gave him the wrong postcode and got him lost ) |

We live in a remote area. It's paradise. It's a perfect place to own a home, raise kids. It's got a real community.
But it's swinging kryptonite. We travelled 4 to 5 hours for socials and meets.
Now I'm looking at traveling to the UK to maybe meet some people.
It's insane and it's actually a bit of a bummer. It got me down when we joined first 5 years ago and it's getting me down now again.

I've never had an issue with travelling for the right person, if it was just for a social, I would try and incorporate it with something else, an event or just a weekend break, likewise for a play meet if it was a long distance
In the past, I've done Manchester to Dundee northwards and to London southwards.
Because of the job I did, I wouldn't play on my own doorstep, plus, they are all a bunch of gossipers |

Distance is not really a factor for us if the person is someone we want to meet, socially or otherwise.
The furthest so far was a 7 hour trip each way, yes it was worth it and yes we are looking to repeat with them coming to stay with is as well. We have also talked about splitting the travel to meet half way but that is mainly so we can visit clubs and events.
We have also met people who live 10 minutes down the road. |

I'd happily travel quite some distance - I like exploring new locations, my job means I can get very good discounts on stays. My only concern would be people presuming I a) want to have sex with them or b) it could be more than a social. I'd probably avoid anyone too local. The town I live in is essentially a village of gossipy gossips.
If I started talking to someone and the connection was there I'd probably say sod it and go for it. |

I honestly can say it depends on who you are talking too, if you click then for me it’s not an obstacle and I would be happy to travel the distance, but then there are others on your doorstep I wouldn’t set outside the front door for. I have been lucky with who I have met and trusted my instincts in doing so.....hoping tomorrow is a Friyay. |

I have traveled 400+ miles for my now ex gf.. And her likewise to me.. Since then I am still willing to travel any distance for the right person, but would take a lot. As for minimum.. I ain't fussed, as long as it doesn't cause any issues later on.. I really don't mind.
If it boils down to a sex only meet 20mile round trip sounds fair to me.. Even if it means we've split the distance. |

"I honestly can say it depends on who you are talking too, if you click then for me it’s not an obstacle and I would be happy to travel the distance, but then there are others on your doorstep I wouldn’t set outside the front door for. I have been lucky with who I have met and trusted my instincts in doing so.....hoping tomorrow is a Friyay. "

"I have traveled 400+ miles for my now ex gf..
20 miles does sound good... |

"I don't mind a bit of distance , truth most of the people I'd want to meet are bloody miles.away anyway , I used to have a reg friend up north when I lived a lot further south and it was god so totally worth the effort ...wierdy one of the worse meets I ever had was 5 mins away....
Exactly this..... my favourite people are a million miles from me but so worth the trip.
In addition to this some of my.fav to ERM perve on are also so bloody far away.....
Oh God yeah..... I perve from all distances.
Me too ,have a few different searches saved
I once drive to meet some one ,and she kissed me as soon as we met ,it was great...sadly the aex wasn't ,but sometimes I do think I would travel to just kiss someone properly again."
I did that with the last person I met. Hardly said hello. It was so worth it. |

"I used to have a minimum distance from my house as there was such a thing as too close.
Furthest distance? Nope! I love driving and thought nothing of a few hours travelling, even just for a coffee and chat.
To me, it’s always been about connections, not convenience. For the right connection, I would happily travel any distance, which is why I’m where I am now!
Exactly how I feel about it.
Too close is just too close.
And you two are inspirational
I’ll tell her that you called us that when we’re sitting in bed eating biscuits
Do you pull the duvet right up under your chins to avoid the crumbs in bed issue?"
I just eat them on her side |

How fast do you drive?

"We live in a remote area.
Distance is a gift and a curse
I know the feeling. I live at the edge of the known world (ish) and even the motorway is an hour away. I love it but unless you want to meet people only in the tiny town (awkward) it does have it's drawbacks."
our neighbour is my brother in law. We have no privacy that way. He knows every car in the part of the county (he's a little bit rain man esque) and she's a gossip.
But we are heading to the canaries in October and we will meet an old friend while there. It won't be a full swinger week. But we will certainly hang out with some people and see what happens |

But generally, anything further than around an hour away would be a bit of a faff for me and not something I'd do |

We’ve both travelled and also love travelling.
If there’s a connection then we are happy to travel. We can always make a holiday of it too and love exploring new places.
Surprising how many places we’ve not been to in the UK.

I think it depends on what you are used to travelling. Getting in the car for 3 or 4 hours was pretty normal for me before lockdown so wouldn't mind a long distance. |

The person we are most involved with is in Ipswich, about 120 miles away. We accept that a lot of travelling will be involved keeping it going. She'll do some and we'll certainly do our bit too, and there is also somewhere in between.
It would be preferable to be maybe half an hour to an hour away for a meet I think, but life doesn't work around our preferences. We know we are very fortunate to have somebody worth travelling for. |

"We all know the curse of fab, especially the forum, is distance.
"
Would definitely travel a fair distance especially if a connection is there
Think I’ve done 100miles to go see someone and yeah I’d do it again
No minimum distance for me |

I always stayed locally but I have travelled quite a distance too. And will again travel when covid restrictions allow. Travelling isn't always something I can freely do regular which is hard when you really want to see someone on a regular basis |
