I absolutely love world mysteries.
Unfortunately, as science surges forward, it keeps bloody well solving them though!
The infamous Dyatlov Pass incident is the latest victim.

What happens after we die?
Is there a god?
Is there alien life outside of Earth?
How do you get your first job if companies are always asking for previous experience?
Does the illuminati exist?
Got plenty more but I'll give someone else a chance now!
Oh and happy birthday by the way!

Happy birthday Tuberose.
Why isn't there mouse flavored cat food?
If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is he homeless or naked?
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?
What was the best thing before sliced bread?

Here's a mystery. All women hate male strippers. Ask them. They all say male strippers are gross. Yet troupes of male strippers pack theatres. It makes no sense. |

"Why do they call orange jam marmalade
"
They are a little different.
Jam users the pulp and juice of sweet fruits (jelly just uses the fruit btw) and marmalade is (usually) made from citrus fruit and includes the peel. You can have lemon, lime and grapefruit marmalades too. Seville Orange marmalade is just the classic.
Oddly there are even onion marmalades |

I am intrested in super mice.
In the early 90s scientists took mouse embryos and distroyed the bit of dna that makes youre imune system.they then put them back and let them be borne natrally.all mamal when in the womb have activ t cells that turn off when born.
The mice having no imune system were born with t cells still activ.
Scientists have found that aslong as blood is going to the brain everything grows back in two weeks.for those who dont understand imagin wolverine on xen the mice regenerate.
Since this hapend in the early 90s.
I wonder if the scientists have now done the same with humans. |

Some of these made me really chuckle. Apart from mouse flavoured food. That would require some odd research. |

"What world mysteries intrigue you and you would like to know more about? "
Serious question. Why do women go back to wife-beaters having successfully moved away from them?
I have a real example of this in my life at the moment, someone I gave a lot of support to (time and money, as did a load of her family members), and as soon as she got back on her feet I found out that she had moved back in with him.
Self-destruct button? Enjoy danger / drama? Or just naive enough to think that it won’t happen again?
Heartbreaking to watch. |

The world is full of mysteries, as are we!
The wonder that is our own consciousness is a mystery in itself and the human condition is a source of eternal wonder (and occasional despair) for me.

The Dyatlov pass incident is definitely an interesting one followed by Atlantis.
There's a few more like what's under the pyramids and even the sphinx, and the Bermuda triangle which also interest me as well |

Lots of judgement here I sense.
Imagine a circle of people standing in the room. And you in the middle holding a ball of yarn. Think you are a woman trapped in an abusive relationship. Think of one reason why you can't leave or that woman told you before (as I am sure she had)... I'll give you - no family support as he isolated us from them. Now throw the yarn ball to another person in a circle and ask them to do the same, whilst you hold on to the end of the thread. They say - I am scared for my safety as I was told by my support worker, that women are in most danger when they dare to leave. Then throw the ball again and hold on to the thread. And so on. Imagine that at the end of this exercise 20 people answered.. Imagine you in the middle tangled up in a web of reasons not to leave. That's how hard it is. |

"Why do we clean our teeth with cold water yet, wash everything with hot water?"
I wonder if this is because hot water (in the UK at least) wasn't as clean as cold due to the way it was stored and heated (same as why we don't drink hot tap water, but heat it in a kettle). |

Heartbreaking to watch. " My father was a shitty person. He isolated my mum from her friends and family. He changed "facts" and made her question everything. He withheld money and made sure she was never comfortable.
Where would she go? Who could take in a married woman and 3 kids?
When he didn't come home for a month who was going to pay her bills? Provide money for food? When she told him not to come back, social workers withheld her deserted wives payment because she wasn't deserted if he wanted to come back.
The local parish priest wouldn't give her communion because she was basically no more than a whore if she wouldn't just let her husband back.

I understand all of those points, as explanations of how hard it is to leave. But she left, her family (and others) supported in all sorts of ways, got her healthy again, gave her financial support, helped her to get a new job, paid for counselling, basically did everything they could think of.
And a few months into her new job, without discussing anything with her family or friends, simply dropped the divorce proceedings and moved back in.
Maybe the finality of completing the divorce? Or finding it hard to believe that there wasn’t something good in the previous relationship and that she could get it back to the good times again? |

It's called manipulation.
For many people on the receiving end of abuse in a relationship its a slow creep of abuse.
You groom them. Make them feel special. Make them adore you. But you also make them dependent on you. So they need you.
Once you have your victim isolated and dependent on you, you ease them slowly into the cycle of abuse. It's a slap or a punch and then lots of contrition. Or it's gaslighting and you make them feel like they are worthless and It's all their fault. But it can't be all bad so you make the highs really high. The good times are amazing. They really love you. Really really make everything about the target of the abuse.
The cycle gets worse. More abuse, less good times. Your world becomes filled with fear. You don't want to wake the anger so you become less and less.
And after a while you live in a world of fear and pain and lies. And your self esteem is ground to dust.
When this is your world, nice people are weird. They are all lying to you. You don't trust them. You are waiting for the other shoe to drop, waiting for them to turn on you. It's exhausting.
At least with the abuser you know where you stand. You know that existence. It's a nightmare but it's familiar.
I was sexually abused as a child and I still can't fully understand why I knocked on his door every morning before school. It hurts me to my soul thinking about it but I did it. My abuser groomed me and became my father figure. And the 10 Yr old child craved his father so much that he was willing to take the risk that the bad thing would happen.
That's why people return to abusers |

We are led to believe that the number Pi is infinite.
But what happens if we discover it really isn't ? That is has a final, last digit. An End.
Well, it would mean a circle is finite for starters.
Take it a stage further and factor in quantum mechanics and the act of observation.
Would whoever makes this stunning discovery, simply by the act of their observation, undo our known universe ?
What things would "break" that rely on Pi being infinite ?
The mind boggles.
