Fuck all.
Numbers are rising massively and I personally can't afford any time off work if I catch it. Just because the chances of me being hospitalised are decreased hugely isn't motivation enough for me to change my behaviours from the last 18 months. |

Well the virus will be celebrating. Chris whittey and a whole range of experts ignored
Bafoon boris throwing in laws on mask wearing allowing idiots to spread germs, shops left without police backup when enforcement of mask wearing, the virus tidal wave coming...
Yep the vitis can't believe it's luck! |

Think most of us will carry on cautiously and keep listening to scientists & doctors instead of politicians chasing votes.
Certainly won't be changing anything here. |

It has to be done at some point and rather than having it in law (mask wearing, social distancing etc.) the onus is on personal responsibility. And calling it 'Freedom Day' is more media over-hyping than actuality.
The virus isn't going anywhere (and we are already in a third wave) and we have to live with it like we live with influenza (and a multitude of other virii and bacterial infections).
And it's not about how many cases there are but about hospitilisations - which are not following the trend of the second wave. |

Somewhere in the middle not the..... |
No different here, we're still wearing them and encouraging people to wear them in work and I will do when I'm out too, we've had our first case here in work and staff having to isolate so I'm changing nothing I can't afford to get it and risk passing it on to my children or family |

I'm going to lick every door handle I see and let total strangers cough in my face.
Either that or I'm going to carry on working from home, keeping my distance and wearing my mask in indoor spaces until I feel a bit more comfortable that the situation has really improved. |

Lockdown hasn’t seemed to affect me like a lot of people, I’ve actually kept most of by habits from before covid, the only additions was putting a mask on to go into a shop |

Celebrating?
No, continuing to work from home and be cautious.
I just hope hospital admissions don't start to become a problem again, as there's many who seem to lack the common sense called for. |

I've said that since this came about. It should be made compulsory throughout to avoid any conflict. |

Another Time |
Covid has not gone away and I suspect a lot of people who actually followed the guidelines, social distanced etc Will probably continue. Face masks are a way of life in most Asian countries and will be here for the foreseeable future |

I still have to wear a mask at work and most shops are still requesting customers to wear one. A lot of pubs in my area are continuing with restrictions to protect their staff so not much has changed to be honest. |

I think most people realise that the government have got this wrong and are just continuing with the precautions.
Having said that, when you come out of roadworks on the motoway, it takes quite a lot of people a couple of miles to realise the restrictions are gone and get back up to speed, I guess a couple of days will show the reality. |

"It doesn’t feel like freedom day, feels like “we give up the fight” day. "
The fight was given up when the British Government allowed upto 1000 people per day to arrive from countries suffering from the Delta variant for 14 consecutive days |

Virus is spread in plumes when you flush the loo. I definitely keep my mask on in public toilets. Plus, you know, all the people breathing |

You certainly have to take a lot of the comments on this thread with a pinch of salt.
I mean.
A lot have had ‘Freedom Day ‘ already.
People big upping the way forward is to carry on wearing masks and social distance too and all the time if you look at some of the verifications there are some from only days ago of meeting people for more than a social .

You’re quite right. We all (particularly singles who’ve had very little human, physical or social contact in the last 16 months) should be willing to give up any close human contact until covid is completely eradicated - which will probably be never!
Honestly - I think everyone (with a brain) will have to do a personal risk assessment - and one for those around them - and act accordingly.
I rarely use public transport - but when I do I’ll wear a mask as I could be surrounded by vulnerable people - the same at a supermarket.
However - as a healthy ‘double jabbed’ person I’ll be attending a club this weekend. My assumption, rightly or wrongly, is that the very vulnerable would have decided to avoid them for now.
Roughly translated - I will protect others where possible - whilst starting to live my own life again.
I believe many others will do the same. |
