So, I am buying a new car but absolutely loathe to get rid of my little Fabia, it's such a good engine but the car has lots of niggles
Anyway talking to my mechanic today he suggested taking it to the Barcelona or Bust rally...Said that he'd do the work for free as a form of sponsetship
I am looking into it for next year, I love long road trips and love driving and I think it would be the perfect send off for my faithful whip
So, who wants in? Decisions based on what snacks you'd choose and roadtrip playlist

Done the journey before several times so know the way.
The eagles, beach boys,
Fruit pastilles, haribo tangfastics, red bull, ( vodka for red bull for overnight stop) sausage rolls and Cornish pasty as no journey complete without flaky pastry all over the seats. And you can bring what you’d like too.. |

This is awesome! I'd definitely come! did a road trip once with 3 random womem from Barcelona to Benicassim for a festival.
I have friends in Barcelona we could stay with.
Did the Camino santiago Portuguese route year end of 2019 met them a few days in, lets just say according to others our camino was shal we say a little different ro others! Haha! |

I remember getting a lift to a festival in an old bulvarian riot van, has a fair few problems! I just found it funny, we were making things out of stuff we had as make shift parts for it, at one point it would only go 10 miles an hour, I just thought what and awesome adventure!
The fun could be trading and making things to get it the next few miles |

What's the distance of this road rally? From where to where please?
Is it a race, if so what position would you like to come? (no that's not a sexual climax question!)
How long can you go between loo stops & stretching your legs?
All the answers would make a difference to the music & snacks I'd bring!

As to playlist and snacks. My music is so varied and as I'm currently doing slimming world the snacks wouldn't be great. Although I do make great lemon drizzle cake and scotch eggs.

Have a plan for what you’re going to do with the car once you get there (unless you’re driving it back). Having done a banger rally, it really wasn’t that simple disposing of it in the Croatian countryside that didn’t involve a lake or a tank of petrol and a match |

I'd suggest, early Simple Minds, Cocteau Twins, Big Country and SAHB.
Tangfastics, Refreshers chews, and lots of fizzy pop, the erruptions would be horrendous.
Then pickled eggs with red cabbage washed down with any energy drink.
I can't make your trip but if you choose these snacks I want to hear all about it when you get back, if you're still able to move.... |

Pringles & haribos to munch on,
Music wise, eagles, guns n roses, bryan Adams - that kinda stuff,
Driving wise I can go the distance - done plenty of European tours & used to do airport/taxi runs - would often do back to back Gatwick runs from Cornwall without even a piss stop! |

Since its a rally for a road trip
Then it wouldnt be snacks it would be sharing multi pick nicks at the stop points along the way.
Sharing a bottle of wine together over a table cloth pick nick.
As we are traveling together we could be on a moonlight beach one day.
Sat on a bench another day, Sitting in a loverly field eating that loverly pick nick together.
Wraped up in a double sleeping bag under the stars.
Hotel stop over for a decent nights sleep.
Your more than welcome to snuggle up for the night, With the lovely embers glowing away infront of us both.
Also as I fix my own cars at least we can sort out whats needed and when needed on the road trip.
Oily hand prints maybe needed so is throwing berrys at each other
Music well it would have to be mixed tapes, From old to new age music I like a mix of things.
They would be some snacks to travel with and a few drinks but too many and we would be stopping at side of the road for us both.
Which im fair game at if you wanted to hide in the field or with doors open for a pea.

If you left London at teatime you could be in Barcelona for breakfast the following day. Why not make it Naples?

So, I am buying a new car but absolutely loathe to get rid of my little Fabia, it's such a good engine but the car has lots of niggles
Anyway talking to my mechanic today he suggested taking it to the Barcelona or Bust rally...Said that he'd do the work for free as a form of sponsetship
I am looking into it for next year, I love long road trips and love driving and I think it would be the perfect send off for my faithful whip

Building a classic saloon race car.
Have driven calais to marbella in 19hrs one hit.(sprinter van)
Nice company.
Fine taste in food.(once in Spain only the best steak serving roadside restos) .
As for music ......1600cc lotus twincam on dyno....check YouTube for that...
