In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
A ranch in Oklahoma. Sunrise. There's nothing but the big wide world and the animals unless you take someone with you.
And there is a tree by a river that has the perfect branch for sitting on. Straddling it like a horse and leaning forward to watch the sun, or leaning back into the arms of a good friend. |

My happy place is at the top of Snowdon when I can avoid the crowds.
Happy to share this moment and place with someone as long as they don’t mind me sharing reflective thoughts |

"Or Edinburgh with my new husband. Obvs.
Huh?
There's a silhouette who loves me. He said it in his first message so it must be true."
Gretna Green then surely! |

Thinking about it, often spending time with my monsters is a happy place.
I took them up Dovedale one summers day. We climbed the hill, sat on the brow and ate our picnic whilst paragliders wheeled below us.
Then they slid down the hill on their bums |

I’ve been to this place many times, it’s on the Ardnamurchen peninsula on the west coast of Scotland
The isle of Carna
It’s an island you can rent one if only two properties on the island.
No cars, no phone signal and no ejected city bar one plug socket to charge your radio to the mainland. Everything else is gas, lights, oven and fridge.
It’s a pure escape, you have your own boat to get to the mainland and explore the sea loch.
Fish, whale watch and the seals. Watch the sea eagles hunt if you’re lucky.
Light the fire in an evening and the lights. And read a book while having a bottle of wine
I’m feeling calm now thinking about it!

I live in my happy place, Scotland will always be home to me, there’s a feeling of warmth from the people here, the beautiful countryside and scenery makes it the perfect place to get outdoors and take it all in xx |

This is why I visit it as often as I can. Nivarna....
My happy place is this 5 mile loop I run around the Malvern Hills. The smell of the countryside and being alone with my thoughts. Actually I hear the trail calling me now.... |

Hard to think where my happy place would be. But possibly would involve being surrounded by lots of books in an old fashioned style library (Unseen University library would be perfect, though have to take along a banana for the Librarian). I do also remember one near perfect hour sat on top of a hill in the Lakes, early autumn but glorious weather, sharing fresh bread and local cheese with a couple of friends.
Seems to be a long time since I was in a simple happy place though, life is just so complicated. |

There is a forest in my home village.. and my favourite sanctuary on the edge of it.. a hunters' place of sorts.. you need to climb there using a little wonky ladder. Ypu sit on a little "bench", then you look around.. trees to the back of this simple wooden delight.. and beautiful golden field of wheat in the Summer.. and if we are lucky in the winter pine trees covered in snow.. blinding, sparkly whiteness. If you are lucky you will spot wild boar or deers or hare. Timeless nature, your own and tranquillity of it all coming together in a stillness of a moment. I miss it. |

I will always find that place with solitude, whether it be in the middle of a forest, up a mountaintop, on a secluded piece of coastline. Enough can't be said about the healing nature of nature...
although, when I read the post OP, my head first went to Carl Weathers playing "we've only just begun" while a scantily clad woman brings beer, grandma wins on the slot machines and a dwarf cowboy gallops around for good measure... |

Euronat, 5.30-6am, cycling to the sea and running in for a swim, then watching the sun rising higher as I sit and air-dry. |

It’s a naturist village on the Aquitaine coast. There are 3 others increasingly further south along the same stretch of coastline but, as it was the first one I visited, it’s my favourite. It’s like the mothership calling me home! |

Just on a quiet coast, listening to the sound of the sea. Doesn’t matter which country or if it’s warm or cold, just the sound of the sea calms me and makes me happy |

up a bit, right a bit...that's the spot |
If I'm at home, there's a particular tree that I like to sit under, although it's not that far away, it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere and I rarely see anyone else up there...I can just sit and watch and listen to the wildlife around me.
My other happy place is up on the cliff paths....the sound of the sea below me, the burn in my thighs from the steep paths, and the incredible views.
Nature soothes my soul |
