Is this true?

I saw it on BBC Breakfast this morning and wondered if anybody had the chance to see it. It's not normally visible in this part of the world.

Wished I could see it here.

Red sky at night, Volvo alight

Red sky in the morning, an under 10's warning (junior pyro!)

Yes. They’ll be visible again tonight.

Don’t expect Iceland or Norway quality but you’ll be able to see the green glow in the northern sky.

Some good photos on FB from the Beacons. It shows up better on cameras as their sensors are much better at detecting colour in low light. That said, they were still visible to the naked eye.

Ive experienced the northern lights in northern Sweden - do you know they make a sort of hissing sound a bit like electric hum and radio hiss combined. Totally captivating . No light or noise pollution up there. Amazing sight & sound.

It has been very visible not far away from us. We live in the middle of nowhere so no light pollution. I've seen photos and they've made me wish that I had gone out and looked for myself.

I was doing a lot of driving in te sticks last night and never saw a thing...apart from a baby muntjac deer twice, a city fox, in MK centre like you do at 1am and a badger who had a wobbly run at the side of the road.

I was in northern Scotland In September and found out they were visible when I was asleep!. Since discovered an app that gives you warning for likely sightings, but I'm back down south now.

There are amazing I have seen them here in nottingham, the north east and Iceland. Trick is to follow Aurora watch and just find a place with no light pollution at all normally around 11-12 but sometimes just before sunrise too. In Iceland you can just drive to the end of the road in Saltjarness it’s 10mins from Reykjavik, there’s no need to pay for expensive tours
