Oh, wait, are they old school slow stumbling zombies where a gentle stroll is enough to outrun them? Can't be doing with modern fast-moving zombies, bollocks to that. |

Well, a geeky mate over at a university in Montreal has answered this very question by running this millions of times on his super-computer.
The conclusion?
Zombies: Humans are the Apex Predator. Not only are they very adept and ruthless at destroying anything that threatens their food supply (and making money of course) they are also brutally effective in taking out their predators (the Polar Bear is the only creature left on Earth that ACTIVELY hunts humans) so a zombie infestation would be dealt with within about 3 months or so. If the threat is that severe then countless measures (weapons, science, transport, evacuating to islands etc...) available at us human's disposal can and will be used. The Zombies would be wiped out.
Vampires: This gets trickier as Vampires technically see us as prey or cattle even. But we're still Apex predator. In an out an out 'battle' as seen with the Zombies then the humans would win just to sheer numbers. However both teams will have much cunning and guile in their arsenal so its not so quite cut and dried. It also depends what 'rules' the vampire are subject too. Does sunlight kill them? (bearing in mind this was invented by Nosferatu in 1922 failing to stave off legal action by Bram Stoker's family as vampires could traditionally walk in the day) and can they shape-shift? My mate says it would be a long arduous battle and depends on how many vampires are recruited. One possible scenario is vampires would remain 'hidden' and picking off their prey covertly. Maybe even harvesting blood for survival. The other option is a 'truce' between the two - as seen in TV show True Blood for example. So that one is too close to call. But even then its weighed more in favour of humans. They are after all the real monsters.  |

If I don't achieve what I want in my life or it get cuts short, then I want to come back as a Zombie....
If yer a Vampire You got to hide from sunlight, Crucifix's, can't enter buildings without peoples permission & ya can't have garlic either. Wooden stakes make yer break out in a sweat too!   |

There is a scene in 1979 'classic' Zombi 2 where a zombie fights and indeed bites a shark with the zombie (we assume not breathing) able to stay underwater. |

Maybe not the answer vegans wish to hear but in 'accepted' zombie 'rules' then the answer is yes. A terminal zombie infection is not affected by morals or beliefs. |

Vampires always seem to be really rich and have fantastic houses and clothes so I'll go vampire. Zombies are a bit unkempt with all that rotten flesh and ragged clothing hanging off. |
