Cowboy Bebop is my favourite and what I'd recommend to someone too. Not because it's anime, just because it's good.
Also: Devilman Crybaby. And if I like them I'd warn them about it, too  |

Oh my goodness where do I start...sure there is a huge nostalgic factor when it comes to Dragon ball and dragon ball z, but there are so many others that are just amazing....

Been watching a lot of the newer anime on Netflix lately, so things like Angel Beats, but old go-tos include The Devil is a Part-Timer, Full Metal Panic (and the daft sequel FMP Fumoffu) Gunsmith Cats, Love Hina, Area 88 and Evangelion.
Trigun's a great entry level choice. If you like slightly more adult-themed stuff Akira got a whole generation hooked in the mid-90s. There's also the classic 'Toonami' lineup of Gundam Wing, DBZ and Tenchi Muyo to help people find what they like.
Will stop now before I out myself as a proper otaku weeb. - GC |

FMA is great for an intro. so is death note.
Gonna have to decide what they like, sports stuff like basketball? Cooking? Dr stone? Highschool? Ones in game worlds like overlord or something like "is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon"
Maybe something like Baki, or maybe the way of the house husband. Maybe go big, something like one piece, maybe something like bleach, or my hero, or dragon ball... Or maybe they would like violet evergarden.. who knows each one is it's own different genre. |

My favourite anime film is Princess Mononoke
My favourite series is One Punch Man
I would recommend most Miyazaki films it how I introduce my wife to the genre Spirited away was her gateway drug. |

Bleach is my all time favourite, others are death note, tokyo ghoul, parasite - the maxim, full metal alchemist, ghost in the shell, guyver bioboosted armour (the original manga and the modern remake), akira, ponyo, spirited away, fist of the north star
I lost my shit when i saw netflix released the bleach live action movie cos they brought back most of the original english dubbed cast |

Can't forget Fist of the North Star, Akira, Ghost in a Shell, Cowboy Bebop. So much to choose from.
I'd certainly recommend Knights of Sidonia. It was so amazing even Hideo Kojima stated it put cool back in anime  |

Love any Miyazaki movie, especially Laputa castle in the sky and princess mononoke, but all time favourite film will always be Akira.
Really wish the original dubs of El-Hazard and Giant Robo would be re-released as those would be two series I highly recommend, along with the usual suspects such as GITS, Evangelion, Beebop and Trigun.

My favourites are code Geass and Death Note but for someone to start watching I'd say any Miyazaki movie, Death parade, Your Name, Erased or Demon Slayer would be good ones |

I remember first watching it when 13. My mom rented it for us at Blockbuster on VHS thinking it was something else! She was horrified with the first 5 mins which my brother and I thought were awesome
She hid the tape away to return it after but I was able to sneak a full view after everyone had turned in. So over the top it had me cringing, then laughing . |
