What is an item that you absolutely will not compromise on the brand of?

For us it’s mayonnaise (Heathen) has to be Hellmans, and Doc Marten’s (Athena) knock offs and copies of them just aren’t right…

We don’t just stick to 3 stripes but do have a nice selection of beauties! Although I’m leaning towards classic Puma at the moment!

I wouldn't touch Rolex with a barge pole, so many better watches out there equal or better quality at a much lower price. Retail value is overpriced for what it is and used is just mental. Add in the brand snobbery around trying to buy one from an AD and you can fuck off.

Fair enough! And to an extent I do agree! What watch brand would you go for instead, that’s relatively high end?

Doesn't have to be high end, plenty of alternatives that are nicer looking and equally as good for less money.

Longines Hydroconquest, far greater heritage than rolex, much nicer looking watch

Tudor Black Bay, yes I know they are owned by Rolex but they are their own brand and much nicer looking, I have 2

Both available almost new under £2k depending on model

If you want to spend more look at Blancpain, Glashutte, Zenith.

Plenty of really good budget options as well from Seiko and the like

Some lovely Rolex alternatives there! Got to say, I do love a Tissot, for the price they are heavily horological… and I am obsessed with Junghans! That beautiful minimalist style just gets me going lol
