Are they still a thing?

Growing up, my mum had loads dotted around the place and today I realised, I have none! Maybe it's time to invest in some indoor greenery x

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

"Apparently really good for oxygen levels "

I suspect that's a myth, unless one has dozens of plants photo-synthesizing like crazy it's probably better to just open a window.

But plants are good to have around anyway.

I've been trying to kill a cactus for the last 10 years but it keeps hanging on in their & even produces babies and a stunning huge pink flower once year that lasts just 24 hours then dies

It's indestructible!

Is not a myth certain plants are great for purifying the air like a peace Lily or Mother in laws tongue.

I meant overstated rather than myth, which was clearly bollocks

I’ve kept a spider plant alive for 5 months now! I’m as shocked as anyone, everything in a pot usually dies within a fortnight with me

Definitely still a thing. Living closely with the natural world is very healthy and houseplants allow us to get it up close, potentially from morning until night.

Many are easy care, including many that are beautiful.

You can even start some outdoors plants inside, from seeds, cuttings etc, before moving them. Some houseplants also do well outside in summer.

I like the varied care needs of each of them. Some I mist, some need little feeding or water, others just want shade, whilst some love brighter light.

Lots of places to have them, not just on windowsills.

It's been 1 long perpetuated story, often fuelled by marketing. The changes claimed would likely need a home with so many plants inside, there'd be no room for people.

I love having plants inside.

I have an orchid in my bathroom that I was given as a gift, I have grown a few avocados from seeds that live in my kitchen, and I’ve got a little tub of strawberries that I have grown from seeds of a bought strawberry.

I talk to them and tell them how pretty they are!
