"We used to watch a foreign language film most weekends. Some were very thought provoking
Any particular language preference, if so why?"
Not really. One particular Finnish film was very thought provoking,a Chinese one the name of which I can't remember got us talking but we've watched a variety |

I watch quite a lot of foreign language films mostly on Channel 4, Netflix, Prime and BBC4. Have to have English sub titles though.
Love Scandi murder mysteries, French Cop series, Italian Inspector Montalbano, Turkish romantic historical films and have recently watched some very violent Polish films. |

I'm a big fan of the old Jackie Chan movies (without the dubbing)
I've also been watching some Polish movies about the war and they put most movies made in the west to shame. Wolyn (where my family is from) is particularly harrowing. |

If it has subtitles it really doesn’t matter to me. Looking at my collection it is mainly French & Italian with a smattering of Spanish and Asian films.
I feel sorry for those cinema goers who only stick to English speakers films. Asia has great horror and action films for example and the remakes are watchable but not fantastic. |

I don’t often watch English language films now as many of them are re-makes or just badly written. |
