Reports today that the WHO (whoever they are) are commentating on human rights when Tom thought they were in charge of medicine and they usually mess that up.
Many Iranian women are encouraged to produce virginity certificates when they marry. The English enjoy multiculturalism and so could it catch on here. What these WHO killjoys forget that many women may be in favour of these tests and be proud to go down the aisle in white.
Would any fab ladies on here apply for such a certificate? And yes this is all over the news .....  |

If some backwards idiot wanted me to prove my virginity. I think I'd quite happily sit on the biggest dildo I could manage, and then send the photo as evidence that my hymen was well and truly broken. |

It's a shame there isn't a way to prove a man is a virgin; or at least know how many women he's put his dick in before expecting a virginal wife.
If he's a slut before he gets married he'll be one after.
He should at least have to prove he's sti free.

I was thinking the same.
I'm assuming that none of the people wanting these certificates have an issue with the intrusive examination that the woman has to undergo.
Perhaps the gents should have the swab in the penis exam at the same time  |

What about the women who have broken them goodness knows when? I never did bleed so I can only presume it happened when doing something non sexual. I worry the implications for women like me in those kind of countries.

The problem on many of these cultures is that a lot of women reinforce the attitudes. I'm so glad that I live in the relative freedom of the west. I believe that if a similar system existed here (it probably does) quite a few men would take advantage of it |

I never used them until after I had sex. So I'm genuinely confused as to when mine broke. My fear is that evidence of virginity is just another way to control women. How in these countries are women to figure out how their own bodies work? Not learn from their husbands what sex is, with no thought of their own pleasure. Then sex becomes something they must do to please their man and produce offspring and to me that's kinda sad. |

Oh it's definitely about control.
I think there's a move towards that in our culture though too. Maybe not as overt as virginity certificates but attitudes are shifting I've noticed. |

Virginity testing is used to bully women from some backgrounds, by families insisting on certain marriages or on conditions of marriage.
Some women feel the need to have hymen repair surgery because the morons who decide on virginity tests don't understand that the hymen can break naturally before intercourse. Some cultures expect to see blood on the bed on the marital first night. How fucking medieval is that?!
This is why virginity testing is not something we should aspire to encourage. |

Tom does not want to stray from the OPs original post but he is not sure that a straw pole from a swingers site is an accurate reglection of the attitudes of modern women in the UK. There is a growing trend of the 'Trad wife' in the UK. Not forced or dictated but the lady's choice to love, honour and obey their husbands who believe in chastity before marriage and giving themselves unconditionally to their husbands. Some pour scorn on that but it's an emerging trend. Tom doesn't judge Trade wives but if women want to prove their virginity by certificate then surely it's their choice . |

The attitudes toward women who enjoy Dec is definitely there.
You can even see it on here in the guys who have umpteen verifications in some cases, but day things like “I would never ‘let’ my wife fuck other men”
It’s differently presented but it’s basically the same thing, and it’s everywhere. |

Women have most certainly been punished over those ridiculous tests.
It’s no coincidence that areas with high usage of those tests often have the highest rate of so-called honour killings. |

I hear you Tom, I married the man I lost my virginity to, due to religious pressure. I also played the stepford wife with incredible accuracy. Had an astounding upper middle class household, to everyone on the outside we were the perfect family. Shame I was miserable, that sex was something done to me and that was painful. It was a shame that what I learnt about sex came from my husband. To the point I thought I was asexual because I genuinely did not like sex. It's a shame I believed in the virtuousness of virginity because I wouldn't have lived 20 years with a sexually incompatible man. Why would we encourage such thinking?
Women aren't some kind of animal to be broken in. Sex should be about mutual want and exploration. It shouldn't be that if you've lost your virginity you become unclean. It appears that this is just another way to control women, because heaven forbid we love and enjoy sex |
