Actually i think it depends why they are an ex.. If you grew apart and its sometime after i probably wouldn't be as bothered vs it being recent with conflict |

I've had a friend ask permission to see my last ex who I finished with. Told them I don't own them and they can do what they like. Was happily in my current relationship when they approached the subject and was never looking back. |

Right, please don’t judge….
I was really good mates with then… gfs brother, and his gf…. Went away on holidays together and so forth…
So my gfs, brothers, misses left him completely out of the blue… couple of months later I left my ex… randomly she messaged me blah blah blah etc etc… one thing led to another as it does… ?????? like it was never intentional.. mad shit happens is what I’m trying to say haha |

I think if an ex is an ex then they are an ex for a reason. They are also a free person. It is not my place to tell them (or anyone else) what they can or cannot do. I don’t see why my feelings should come into it. |

It depends on how close a friend they are. I'd like to say yeah sure, I'd be really happy for them but there's one ex and one very good friend where I'd not be as virtuous as I'd like to be  |

There's a lot of variables, not least time. I mean a week after a breakup I can't imagine anyone being happy with that, but after several months or a couple of years it's not your business |

Most recent ex. I'd tell his wife. He'd have clearly learned nothing from the situation.
Abusive ex. I'd steer clear of the friend if it was someone that knew it was him that put me through hell. If it was someone who didn't actually know who he was, I'd let them know he's a headfuck and gets handsy so they could make an informed decision.
Anyone else, I'd hope they were having a cracking time. |

So there's a few levels for me.
If the friend knew I was still messed up over the ex then I would be annoyed.
But that's for me to deal with I suppose. Still think it would be poor form from the friend and I have been in the position before and haven't done it.
I was friendly with some ex's and would have had no issue with them being with my friends (this did happen occasionally).
The nasty ones (from my opinion) I wouldnt want my friends to get tangled in their webs, but then we are all grown ups now. |
