"Dr Dre - 2001. You can end the thread now. It's literally perfect." Hard to argue against this

"Paris - Sleeping with the enemy. " Nice - Paris is a underrated rapper, I like the devil made me do it
"Dr Dre - 2001. You can end the thread now. It's literally perfect. Hard to argue against this" The Chronic?? It’s close
"Dr Dre - 2001. You can end the thread now. It's literally perfect." Good shout. Or Biggie ready to die.

"What’s your favourite rap album of all time?? I’ll start... Gang Starr - Moment of truth " As much as moment of truth is lauded as one of the greatest, personally I prefer Hard to Earn. I’d stick Ice Cubes Predator album of GZA’s liquid swords above it, but it’s all opinion.

"Dr Dre - 2001. You can end the thread now. It's literally perfect. Good shout. Or Biggie ready to die. " I’d take Life after death over ready to die as Biggie was becoming an even better MC If we are talking about what is the best rap album of all time then imo it’s Nas - Illmatic

" Between moment of truth and hard to earn, it’s a coin toss for me but recently I’ve been preferring moment of truth. I’m not saying it’s the best album of all time but it might be my favourite

I love that song you're not allowed to say here, Biggie Biggie Biggie, can't you see, sometimes your words just... And Illmatic is...ill! Love it. I also like jay z the blueprint, even though it's sample heavy but works. Early Kanye too.
"Dr Dre - 2001. You can end the thread now. It's literally perfect. Good shout. Or Biggie ready to die. I’d take Life after death over ready to die as Biggie was becoming an even better MC " Nah, Life After Death was a bit overindulgent and far too r'n'b to be an all time great hip hop album. For a double cd, there's only about a single cd's worth of decent tracks

Kanye first 3 albums are all great and by far his best work

"Rap and perfect in the same sentance ![]() ![]() Yeah but come on, it's not music is it !! ![]()
"Rap and perfect in the same sentance ![]() ![]() ![]() For millions of ppl it is. And it is the most listened music in France. It is not because you don’t understand the concept behind it that it is not entirely music with its own category
"Rap and perfect in the same sentance ![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah ok ![]() ![]()

"Rap and perfect in the same sentance ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you class some sounds created on a £500 laptop with a base line and someone "singing" in that "they all sound the same' monotone talking where every last word of a sentance is hung on to as music well good luck to you ![]() ![]()
| |||
"Rap and perfect in the same sentance ![]() ![]() ![]() What do you gain by coming to a thread that appreciates rap music and saying it’s not music? ![]()

"Absolutely NONE ![]() ![]() Thank you for your valued contribution. Anyone who thinks Rap is all the same (guy previous, cba to quote) is just being wilfully dismissive. I've got Scottish rap from 1987 in my music library, it bears no resemblance to most of the stuff listed above but it's valid and you can't pigeon hole it by saying "it's *just* rap". Open your mind and ears a bit, you might find something you like. Music isn't the dominion on a 5 piece band with a drummer, keyboard, 2 guitars and a lead singer...

This is called freedom from financial censorship. Music: own it-don't rent it.
