Following the back of another thread, what, if anything do you like about this time of year or that specific day?
Now I know some may have to dig real deep to think of something, but let's share in the delights that this time of year can bring 
I always look forward to making Christmas Dinner and the mayhem that goes with, then especially enjoy eating it too. |

OP, on Christmas Day and/or Boxing Day, I like to go for a walk, taking in the crisp festive air, the Åutumnal freshness, kicking leaves, feeling the warmth within my gloves and scarf, sipping cheap Mulled Wine from a paper cup. That's the ultimate value for money.  |

I must admit, I do love a winter stroll when all wrapped up warm, all the better in fresh snow, the crunching feel under your feet with each step. Always seems very calming |

For me it has already begun.
December 5th to be precise.
I LOVE messin' with my kids about Krampusnacht.
Just this morning before getting on the bus,my youngest asked me if today was December first.
I said, "Yes it is. Four more days til Krampusnacht!"
He said, " Mom said he isn't real!"
I said yes he is! As real as Santa. So tell yer bad friends they four days to live!"
After the fifth, it is still good but not Nightmare before Christmas good as he knows he has made it past Krampus.
For another year anyway.

I love seeing the magic that my children see. The fucking elves arrived today, I made it clear to them last night that I don’t want them here. The look in their eyes when they saw a breakfast from the elves and a letter. There’s no way it was me that went to tesco for the breakfast, it was full of chocolate! |

Gingerbread lattes.
Mulled wine.
Bailey's.
Snowballs. The drink not the cold stuff.
The fairy lights.
The cold.
Bucks fizz for breakfast.
Xmas films.

So much of it. I love this time of year.
Spending time with friends and family over festive themed hot drinks.
Wrapping up warm and going for a walk in the woods, the crisp leaves crunching underfoot and that brisk air that leaves your face all glowing.
Those little messages of well wishing. Heartfelt, reaching out to people because this time of year makes you want to connect.
Snuggling under a blanket and watching a daft film where you know the storyline but you don't care because you're going to embrace the silly romantic festive film.
Baking and cooking for loved ones, things you know will make them exclaim with delight. The festive themed food. Camembert with cranberry sauce.
Foraging for wreath components, switching off for a few hours and spending time just enjoying seeing what you can craft.
A roaring fire, sitting and drinking mulled wine and feeling at peace with the world.
The Christmas carols.
The little things you do to show you love/care about people. Wrestling with sellotape, carefully cutting the wrapping paper *just so*. Shopping and seeing that perfect gift for someone from something they mentioned months ago.
And time. Time with people. Sharing. Reminiscing. Being together. That's my favourite part of this time of year. |

I love my daughter's palpable excitement for the while month and all the nice wee family experiences - pantos, markets, school shows etc. I could wrap up empty cardboard boxes for her to open and she'd still just be buzzing that it's Christmas time  |

Spending time with my mum, both for christmas shopping and for christmas dinner.
Spending time with my extended family, some of whom I only see at Christmas each year, and reminiscing about those no longer with us.
Sentimental Christmas specials on telly.
Listening to the same set of Christmas songs that I've been hearing since I was a kid: Slade and Wizzard and a Christmas Gift for you from Phil Spector.
Christmas eve's service of 9 lessons and carols, either in church or listening via radio 4 - the sense of tradition and idea of a communal flow of good intention out into the wider world.
Going for a walk Christmas morning and seeing all the over-excited kids with their shiny new scooters and bikes and hoverboards and rollerblades, wobbling their way along the prom.
Family boxing day tradition of chicken nuggets and chips round at my aunty's house, games of charades and sardines and name that tune over a billion mugs of tea.

My favourite thing is in the afternoon / early evening is to watch my favourite Carry on Films. It is just the best relaxation. Especially when Carry on at your Convenience comes on. My all time fave |

All of it! The tree, the presents, especially the stuffing 
I have nearly done all my shopping, just discovered Etsy and bought the girls in my team at work pretty personalised bracelets to say thanks for getting through a shit tough year, we've all had it tough this year so hope they like them
Super excited for the party we are having at work for the children. I love my job especially at Christmas! It's a privelige indeed to share these special times and be part of that. Made up little bags for each child to take home with bits from me and Christmas stuff they have made
Just love it! And I have started wearing my Christmas jumper at work already much to my bosses annoyance |

, it's the reason why we normally put out Christmas tree up in the middle of November. And it's the only reason I would go out for a walk in this cold
