I don't think I could name just one.
There have been some awesome men and women throughout history.
Shakespeare,Marie Curie, a woman whose name I've forgotten who persuaded many aristocrats to inoculate their children against smallpox, the people who volunteer for a homeless charity round here who deliver food and other stuff every night without fail to street sleepers |

My landlady, who's also my oldest friends mum.
She spends all her time doing things for others. 7 days a week. And never has a bad word for anyone or anything. Just totally selfless and it's inspiring. |

My Mum she was with her partner of 48 yrs, he was a butting, controlling narcissistic bastard. My mother suffered yrs of abuse. He dropped down dead 2 yrs ago and she turned to me and said now she had her freedom!
A remarkable lady and I’m so very proud of her. |

Alex Zanardi
(Short truncated version).
Raced his way from building his own racing go-karts out of scrap and in to the world of being an F1 driver (no mean feat in itself), loosing his sister during this time to a car accident, while he was still in his teens.
Shortly after leaving his second stint in F1 and moving back to the American cart circuit, he span his car on the high speed oval and was T-boned by another car at well over 150mph, instantly obliterating his lower legs and losing so much blood doctors have no idea how he survived, with several long months in hospital.
Returned to racing the following year in modified cars, but he was frustrated at the lack of feedback with his new prosthetic legs, so apparently designed and built himself some new ones which worked much better Ahead of one of that years cart races, He was also invited to complete the remaining laps of the race in which he crashed- setting a lap time that would have qualified him in 5th place for the actual race.
He has also won touring car races, competed in the Le Mans 24hr and test drove an F1 car for BMW.
If all thats not enough, he then decided to get in to parasports with handbiking, Winning both the NY marathon and various medals at the London Paralympics.
Mid 2020, while competing in one of his races, he was in collision with a truck which resulted in near fatal head injuries, a long induced coma and the loss of his eyesight, hearing and speech. He's slowly regained all three after an 18 month stay in hospital and finally returned home in the summer- only having to return to hospital shortly afterwards due to a fire at his home leaving it impossible for essential equipment needed for his recovery to be used.
I have no idea how this guy keeps going, totally fucking superhuman and truly awesome

Many great people on this list. Personal heros. Champions of industry and humanitarians. I think I would put Nelson Mandela on the list. He was a great man before they locked him up. He was a superman when they released him. |

My aunt who died recently at almost 99. She was of tiny stature but a truly indomitable spirit who remained resolute and positive right to the end of her life. |

My Mother in Law.
She was formidable, tough. But had a heart of gold. She was one of the first women of her time to study agriculture alongside the men at college because she didn't want to study farming economics alongside the other women and all through her life continued to break the mold. She went on to be become a sales woman for John Deere tractors and travelled all over the country, she held her own as Woman in a Man's world from pretty young and she kept up with the best of them
My great Aunt who was a Nurse and trained directly under Agnes Hunt at the hospital she founded, she saved countless soldiers lives and nurtured and cared for many more. She has a suite dedicated to her at that very same hospital now |
