I'm thinking of having a camping weekend in June somewhere around London and wondering if it is a good idea ??

Just don't do it in front of St Paul's as they'll get annoyed.

There are some nice sites close to London, like Windsor.

This campsite is very good with excellent links to London. About 45 mins to Liverpool street.

There's another.camping weekend being organised in June, at a well known naturist beach in North Wales, so far there seems to be more than forty of us going

Essex.

There's a site near east grinstead that has 11 pitches in woodland plus some in fields. For £5 they deliver wood so you can have a fire in a pit... How much fun could you have in the woods?
