What makes you reply?

If I feel like my profile has been read in entirety and thoroughly and I am attracted, then I will reply.
What I will NOT do, is reply to anyone that messages me under false pretenses and then expect me to overlook their lie(s). |

Can't tell you, but we just get a feeling usually.
It's less of "what makes you reply" and more of "what stops you hitting delete".
The default sadly is not to reply because there's usually something to put us off.
It can be anything from bad spelling, looking for what we want + more, that's always a turn off, we don't want to meet people who are compromising, just to get a meet.
But then it could be your photo, but then don't ask me what makes a good photo!
It's just an overall feeling. |

Essentially, a coherent message, ideally consisting of a couple of relevant sentences from a profile with some pictures and body text.
That said, we sometimes reply out of pity, a misplaced sense of helping or even sarcasm! Some messages are so bad they can't be ignored! |

Basically if someone (almost always a single guy) doesn't read my status message (As 47 single guys haven't done today) and still message me.....then they shouldn't be surprised if I don't read their message, let alone reply to it. |

The best advice I can give is to send one message and leave it at that. I get people send 3,4 and 5 messages before I’ve even opened them. I just block them straight away x |

This x100! 'just checking you got my earlier message ' Why, where do you think it could have got to? It's an internal messaging service, not the Scout post. We got it we just haven't replied for whatever reason but in reality you've just made our decision for us...

Some/quite a lot of it will come down to looks. Your friend could write the world's best ever message, but if the person he's messaging doesn't fancy him, he's may still get a reply. No response is a response and all that. |

When I was looking to meet, just about the only thing that would get me to even open a message, never mind respond, would be an avatar that made me think "phwoarrrr, I'd like a bit of that". I always preferred to search and message people that I was interested in, so used to largely ignore my inbox. |

I prefer messages that almost start mid conversation as if we've spoken before rather than rambling introductions but then again only if those are from people who have taken the time to read my profile and aren't attempting to impose their own agenda.

It’s not really a case of what amazing one liner they use, it more of a numbers game…
There are eleventy-billion single guys to every single lady, maybe half that for couples.
Hence the ladies can be super super picky and it’s difficult for guys to get replies. |

Warm, friendly thoughtful messages from a man's profile that's put together for the benefit of me, as a viewer. This includes having a good range of photos, so I can tell how he looks and lets me grasp that he's reasonably well clued up on what's needed overall.

I can't tell if we are compatible from your profile. so there needs to be some effort in showing who you are as a person.
Most people also want to see what you look like in minimal clothing. You don't have to be naked but like me in my swimsuit and my carnival costume.
You have to stand out from the other guys. Literally hundreds if not thousands of divorced and separated guys looking for a FWB.
Even being tall is not a distinction. I've probably come across more tall guys on Fab than in real life! |

A decent profile as I look at that before I decide to reply or not. Apart from that that there is no particular message that will make me reply. Also if I'm tired etc I'm less likely to reply to messages or profiles that don't interest me. |

We’re not so snowed under so we almost always send a polite reply to all messages.
The only exception is messages which we find offensive or idiotic.

I always read their profile and start a conversation with something in there I.e if they say they like horses I ask about horses , tell them my name and then I send a face picture (most people struggle with that part) and if they're are intrested you get a reply |

“Straight to the point one” tried to engage them with something in there profile
Even the “ I’m the worst guy on here” one, which got the best response
Just keep trying maybe your get lucky because at the end of the day, it’s just luck if you get a reply |
