I survived cancer and now I’m unable to give a shit about the little things. It’s hard making connections cos I was in and out of hospital when people were formulating their lives. Anyone else here survivors like me? How are you? Are we all as disenfranchised with normal ‘work, pay bills’ structure as I am? I need connections but my mind has had cancer, 3 brain operations, chemo and radiotherapy. What’s your story? |

We both are ,mine cervical twice and Dick bladder .
I can only speak for myself but I now see the good or at least try and put a positive spin on everything. I'm still here and I really wasn't expecting to be ! |

I'm not quite there yet I have breast cancer, I have had 2 ops and radiotherapy, I'm just waiting on final biopsy results for something else they found before I hopefully get the all clear. I did see my cancer nurse today and we were talking about this, cancer has pretty much consumed my every waking thought since my diagnosis last December and it is going to be a hard transition going from that back to 'normal life', the only thing I can say OP is take it one day at a time, don't try and rush things, cancer is life changing as the nurse told me today its not just my body that has to heal but also my mind. I was told about groups I can go to, maybe something like that could help you spending time with people who have been through what you are going through, talking really does help.

"In my work life I'm now even more tenacious, but in my personal life I've become way more easy going... it feels like I've pushed further at either end of the spectrum."

I had testicular cancer in my 20s now only have one bollock.
It has affected me I now walk in circles due to the imbalance.
Just joking about the walking in circles.
It hasn't effected me only occasionally I sometimes think that I have had cancer so it's in my body still somewhere and I may get it later although when I had it was 40 years ago |
