Escape from new York beats all.

Followed by assault on precinct 13, the thing and Christine.

I like big trouble because I love Kurt Russell.

Growing up with Carpenter, it was mainly Halloween. Then I was opened up to his filmography and the rest was history, compares to the rest of his movies, Halloween isn't the best, although still up there for me. More of an achievement in small budget filmmaking at the time.

My top 5 would be in order

The Fog

The Thing

Halloween

Prince of Darkness

Christine

Had the pleasure of meeting John and Cody Carpenter at his event in London a few years back. Got many things signed, along with a photo with him, which remains close to my heart.

Seen the title and automatically assumed it was about Stephen King, who is also 76, albeit was last year.

What I love most is its almost impossible to imagine a definitive top four. So many wonderful movies.

I suspect The Thing would be in 99.9% of lists but thats probably only given.

Totally fair. He can definitely do character driven plot outside horror. Starman is lovely.

I also love how he just doesn't care about his IPs now, as long as he's paid lol.

I remember him saying in an interview a few years back they can make Michael Myers transgender for all he cares, as long as the cheque comes in the mail lol

Dark Star is on my all time favourite top 10 list, of any genre.

First ever sci-fi film with comedy as main part of storyline.

Fun fact. Dark star was a college project that he scared up some money for to become a feature film.

One of the actors chases an alien. The actor, who also co-wrote the screenplay, was Dan o'bannon. He turned that silly chase into another screenplay. This time he called it alien.
