Do you worry when you find a random screw on the floor at home in a place where a screw should not be and wasn't there the night before?

What was it holding together that may fall apart???

I worry more when the said appliance has vanished and is replaced with said lonesome screw.

Yes I also get mildly concerned when we've finished constructing something quite important and there's one screw left...

I have spent most of my professional life taking things apart and putting them back together. It is an undisputable fact that there are many times more screws used than are actually required. In most cases, you can lose more than 50% of the screws without any noticable effects.

No. I bin it. Then my husband will ask me about 3 weeks down the line if I happened to see a screw somewhere and I’ll act like I don’t know what he is talking about

Its the same with old cars, especially Landies. You can have bits left and they still work. Clearly they were surplus to requirements

The first thing I do is put my hand in my pockets to see which one of them has a bloody hole in and see what else I’ve lost.

Screws are falling out of me all the time. I've no chance of putting myself back together

It doesn't bother me. I quite enjoy a random screw on the floor at home in a place where a screw should not be.
