What fruit and vegetables do you buy unpackaged, or would you, if shops didn't only sell them wrapped?

Potatoes. There’s always some really tiddly ones in the packs. Bloody hard to peel and not the right size. Too big whole & too small cut in half.

Supermarket fruit is normally crap. I miss green grocers on the high streets, and much better to get the amount you want weighed, and in a paper bag.

I think the domination of wrapped food in supermarkets is partly responsible for the volume of waste that we have.

I try to get everything loose but it's really hard

I'd buy everything unwrapped if I could with possibly the exception of soft fruit.

Broccoli. The plastic seems pretty pointless to me.

Me too, but there isn't always an option.

My kiwis only came in a wrapped 6 pack.

It's scandalous that we're so forced to have to take the plastic wrapped stuff . I know we can shop around but at what cost, if you're already at 1 supermarket - who's got the time etc, to them get yourself to another place, for your kiwis, broccoli etc?

Most of us are going to be washing our produce and it will have mostly been touched by farm staff, so the thought of it needing protection seems silly

I'm lucky, I have a wholefood shop up the road from me, the greengrocery section is great, so I buy loose and just the amount I need, veg and hard fruits, but still buy soft fruit pre packed

Is that because you can't get them loose or your preference?
