Sunday music

Sundays are a day that to me are for reggae music. Growing up I’d get reggae music in the house every Sunday. It was such a chill day.

What type of music are you feeling today?

Well, I began the day with Sorrow - David Bowie, and have just arrived at Float On - Modest Mouse, via Waterloo Sunset and Fire and Rain.

I guess that means it's a wistful sort of Sunday?

Normally, there’d be raging guitar riffs aplenty. But I fancy a change of pace so I’ve gone with a bit of Dr Dre - 2001 in it’s entirety.

North West

We've not had any music on today because we've had kids TV in the background. They've gone out briefly so I might put on some early 2000s pop punk

Wherever the wind takes me

My mum always used to blare Motown out on a Sunday when my step-dad was in work and she was doing the cleaning.

I like acoustic chill out vibes on a Sunday.

Manchester-ish

Sunday mornings tends to be either soul (usually stuff that has been sampled in more recent songs such as Curtis Mayfield, Minnie Riperton) or indie folk a la First Aid Kit.

Currently listening to 6 Music though.

My parents always used used to have Fleetwood Mac playing mostly that seems to form my Sunday memories.

Myself I've followed in their footsteps and usually it's Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Hendrix etc or I'll have ska ranging from Prince buster all the way through to modern bands like the interrupters
