"has any one got a pair of those really high heeled ballet shoes? They look dead unusual but wondering if you can walk in them? Z"
In ballet dancing shoes theres some padding between the toes and the end of the shoes.
This offers the modicum of comfort necessary for movement.
In the fetish type ballet shoes that I've worn though there is no such padding.
I've managed to stand and take a step or two but your whole body weight is on the tips of your big toes.
They make you stand and walk like the Cyclops off the old Sinbad films 
Definitely made for looks not performance.
