Proper roller skates, inline ones. My parents always went down the sensible root and got me "training skates" the ones you put on over your shoes. Pfffftt! So frustrating as my cousins down the road got the stuff I always wanted. But I was a grateful child and never complained.

Used to love mine - seemed like there were so many different options to make at the time (there weren’t but let’s not let that get in the way of a memory). |

I got the best Christmas present ever when I was 9 it was a Jack Russell puppy the last one of my aunty and uncles dogs litter my dad said they were saving it for a friend of his then he went out Christmas Day and came back with her I couldn’t ever want anything more than that present |

What didn't in those days? I remember my old ghetto blaster would nail six 'D' batteries in about 90 minutes, and that was if you didn't activate 'MEGA BASS' mode...
Fast forward to 2024 and I have a Temu knock-off JBL Bluetooth speaker that lasts all weekend on a single charge and will get a house party shut down if you're not careful. And it's no bigger than a rugby ball. |

A Big Trak.
And load of Star Wars figurines to keep in a box and sell them 50 years in the future to collectors. Alas, my parents were not keen on the idea. that's when I realised at the age of 11, gifts come with "conditions" and parents cannot be trusted. |
