Well are they?
Do you send them?
Do you like receiving them?
Do you think they are lazy?
Do you respond/wink back?
Do you even check them?
Have you ever met someone great off the back of a wink? |

There was a similar thread the other day. I personally like a wink and when I get one I’d message. Someone might lack in confidence or just giving you a heads up that they like you and if the feelings mutual then hit them up. I’d like to say it could save the lady’s getting hundreds of messages but doubt that 🤣 |

I've mentioned this in similar threads - I just interpret winks as some perfunctory action. I don't send winks. Indeed I haven't sent one for over three years, other than those which are part of a forum game or a challenge (an equally pointless exercise).
I've sat next to 'women friends' at a social who have shown me their 'wink tally', with the number varying between 350 and 600++ winks. A wink sent from a single man, no matter how well-intentioned with all the airs and graces, will simply languish like an abandoned child in some obscure orphanage.
No woman of substance has the time or the wherewithal to sift through an ever-increasing mountain of winks. Hence their limited use. In fairness they are useful to a small minority. I've heard that they seem to work well for Couples... |

So I Wink because it's a soft touch approach that allows the woman to decide if she wants to make contact. Less mental load.
But this past week I've begun to think what's the point of the actual function. So many women proudly saying they ignore or bulk delete them. Is it actually worth having it as an option on fab.
Obviously the vast majority of messages also get ignored or bulk deleted too which is all fine (you do you on fab).
I don't think I'll stop being a massive winker regardless of all the negative comments to it. |

I don’t mind ‘em. The function must be well used by people or Fab would get rid of it.
What I find laughable is the way some equate a wink to laziness, and would be an indicator of the level of effort put into the sex.
Ridiculous. |

The levels of assumption on here is laughable, I'm so glad everyone knows everyone else so intimately, based on a few pics and a couple of paragraphs. Bonkers |

They will find us when they seek my friend |

I haven't winked first yet. Doesn't seem to be a need as a solo woman since they all come to you 😅
I like a wink and I do look at them. I don't think it's laziness at all. I see it more as testing the water based on profile and pics before putting effort in to a message that will likely be ignored and deleted. I've never sent a message in response to a wink. If I'm interested I'll wink back and see if a follow-up message comes to me.

Winks, no I don't think they are lazy, when I read a profile and it says no winks, than I won't send.
I tend to message the vast majority of time, but do send winks on occasion if i receive a profile view after that, i will follow up with a nice little message.
I got my first wink the other day, I was just typing a message to the couple and as doing so received a wink from them.
so my mid message said, *and now you have just winked at me*.
Think it works for some but not everyone. |

Winks are getting annoying for us. Initially, if we sent one and received one back, we would message - but find it sits unread for ages! But if we receive one, then send one back, some just never send an opening message!
Strange old place this is becoming! |

Yes I send them
Yes I like receiving them
No I don't think it's lazy, it's a good way to gauge if someone is interested
I wink back if I like what I see
Most of the time I check them
Probably lol |

We like them - to us they’re an indicator of interest. We’ll wink back if the interest is mutual. If we wink first and it’s reciprocated, we message.
Many of our conversations have started with a wink. As a single woman, a number of my meets came from winks. |

I absolutely hate them. I check them because I always have to check new notifications. I look and think what's the point? Clearly haven't read the profile as I say no winks in caps. Sometimes I'll just go along with it reply with a wink. Literally nothing happens, no further interaction. It's the exact same if I send a message to their wink. Nothing.
Actually could probably be that they saw it on my profile and just decided to be annoying |

Swns them once in a blue moon, if I get sent one and like the look of the person I'll wink back and see if they message if not, I leave it at that, I don't really get the wink hate, it's kind of like testing the waters, 🤷🏻♂️ |

"Probably the women hardly check them most men Probably do check them doesn't take much effort either way do I check them indeed I do 😉"
Agreed. Most get you no response but once in while can lead to fun- so worth it for me |
