When I think back 28 years, 1996 was a seminal year for so many reasons for me... In FAB terms, it's pretty much where it all started in swinging. Well, where I started to realise it was a definite thing. And a couple of years later watching something about it on TV with my then GF was the first chapter in a very exciting journey...
Oh, did you mean the film? Oops, sorry. Didn't even know it was a thing. |

"Who is excited for this (holds hand up)
Both hands up here, I love a good Zombie movie, when is it due to arrive in the Cinemas? "
Slated for 2025. No dates yet.
As far I know. |

" June 2025 I believe "
Dammit, I'd noticed a few clips of the new one popping up here and there but been studiously avoiding watching them 'cos I hate seeing the trailers before a movie (they always show the best bits)
Was hoping it would be out sooner |

Well, there IS a place, but it can only be reached via the high seas.... (if you get my drift).
i can send you a link in private if you like. |

You’re not excited ‘for’ this
You’re excited ‘about’ this
You sound like my kids and their Americanisms…
We may as well start pronouncing the L in Salmon because clearly nothing matters anymore… |

I’m looking forward to that to Meli 🥰
Also, another upcoming vampire one: Dracula: A Love Tale which features the ever superb Christopher Waltz in it (but not as our eponymous Transylvanian vampire sadly) 🙁 |

Yes! And one of the best film composers ever is doing the score. There's also Del Toro's Frankenstein coming out - what a potentially great year for horror 2025 could be.
Oh, did you ever watch The Last Voyage of the Demeter? It came on streaming services a few weeks ago. |

I didn't know that it was being made, have seen the others. For the enthusiasts, I heard about a zombie experience where you can actually go shoot zombies, (they're actors) where they take over a whole mall.
Apparently it's quite good. |

It's on Sky, you can also pay for it on Amazon. Not yet "free", if you understand what I mean but I'm guessing in the new year NowTV/Netflix will pick it up. |

They were filming church scenes in Newcastle for several weeks, always used to see Danny Boyle and Jodi Comer in the Crowne Plaza hotel Newcastle.
Jack O’Connell was also there but never saw him |

"Was there ever any talk of 28 months later or would that have been a bit twee?"
28 months was in development but disagreements between the people who held the film rights.
Quote from Alex Garland around 2010:
"when we made '28 Days Later', the rights were frozen between a group of people who no longer talk to one another. And so, the film will never happen unless those people start talking to each other once again" |

"I can honestly say....
I have no fkn idea what this is referring to "
It’s a film franchise.
The first one released starring cillian Murphy was 28 days later. Then came 28 weeks later. Next year they are due to release part 1 of 28 years later. |

I ended up renting it on prime!!
Is it any good?"
It's personally one of my favourite zombie films, it came out in 2002 so the CGI is lacking somewhat, but it's very cleverly done. Cillian Murphy plays a great part too. |

I rewatched the 28 Days Later the other night, and didn’t think it was as good as I remembered 😳
Never actually got around to watching 28 Weeks Later, so I suppose I need to watch that.
I’ll probably just wait till it arrives on Sky or one of the streaming sites |

I didn't hate it entirely.
But I won't be actively seeking to watch it again. And if I do it's going to be one of those where I turn it off at a suitable end point rather than watching the last scenes again 💜 |

I saw 28 days later for the first time over the weekend. It was OK, but I couldn't get too enthusiastic about it.
I guess it's like the Matrix or Psycho - it was groundbreaking when it came out but it's old hat now.
I'm going to watch 28 weeks later this weekend and if I like that I'll probably go and see 28 years later. |

28 weeks later is very different to the original and to the most recent and there are no links in the stories other than being set in the same “universe”. I think I want to say, watch them all and don’t base your decision on how you feel about 28 weeks. It’s the weakest of the three imo x |

I watched it last night (too impatient to wait!) and preferred it to 28 days. It felt less familiar to me than 28 days, though it lacked the heart of the original (I didn't care about any of the characters or whether they survived, where I did in 28 days). |

I've re-watched 28 days and 28 weeks this week and tonight went to watch 28 years later.
Thought it was a bit confused as a film, lots of unexplained gaps in logic but I enjoyed it. The ending is bizarre but makes sense if you remember that everything after 2002 in this ti_eline isn't the same as now. E.g Sycamore Gap is still there.
It was filmed near me, so was fun trying to recognise the locations.
Two 28 years later sequels are in the pipeline. |

Very different feel to the first two movies for me.
Not the fast paced horror I'm used to, but more a hidden malevolent threat.
I loved the idea of the Alpha..
I enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the next one. |

Went to see 28 Years Later today. I really enjoyed it and even had a little cry at one point.
Anyone expecting a zombie horror might be disappointed, but I thought it was a fantastic film about people and survival.
The end was random as fuck but I'm quite intrigued for the sequel now |

I'd say around ten inches flaccid! Though you only see if briefly really. I was expecting it to be a main character the way people were going on and the actor has confirmed it's a prosthetic haha
I did Google the actor after though, he's 6'8 former MMA fighter 😍 would absolutely smash |

I definitely enjoyed it and would say yes, it's different from the other two films but that doesn't make it bad. It is tense at points, there's plenty of violence and I jumped a couple of times, but I also shed some tears. I liked it. |

It was because they had a child actor, the law is that they have to use simulated nudity for their protection which makes sense. But that doesn't mean it wasn't modelled on his proportions 👀😆 |
