Be intrested if anything comes out in wash on this. The hand of the Kremlin seems to be behind a lot things across Europe recently that cause problems, stoke fear and most maliciously division in European society. They seem to have adopted a technique of co-opting disparate criminal gangs, extreme political groups, terrorist organisations and individuals into doing thier bidding to sow trouble in society. A campaign of asymmetric warfare where the Kremlin can enable and support trouble makers at such a distance that sometimes even those who are co-opted and supported don't know its the Kremlin pulling their strings.
Naturally at this stage that's pure speculation but it would fit into a pattern of events across Europe where the Kremlin's hand has been involved. And in the current political environment in Germany exacerbating divisions and tension in German society would definitely be useful to the Kremlin. |
