"Now I’m not saying Man Utd will get relegated……
"
They won’t, but my God they were awful last night in the first half. This was the first time I’ve watched them this season and that opening 45 minutes is possibly the worst Man Utd t performance I have ever seen - and I do mean EVER (and I am not forgetting the drubbings they took in Europe around 93-94, as they were blooding the youngsters). |

"Newcastle at Spurs today
Hoping for a win "
I read yesterday that only 7 of their players trained due to injuries and illness. Anything less than a point would be a massive missed opportunity. |

Spurs have 5 first choice defenders missing, plus their 2 first choice keepers. In true Toon style, watch us lose spectacularly |

If we were at home we’d batter them like we do every season but i’m never confident when we’re away to the London clubs. |

Away to Brighton. Tough game, but one we really need to win...
Hoping Man U may discover some semblance of ability to play football and make a game of it with Liverpool tomorrow too...but not holding my breath. |

It’s true.. man united only avoided an emirates humping because they sacked ETH 10 days before!!
Do you think united fans would prefer the incoming humping tomorrow at anfield, or at the emirates in the cup the weekend after… you know they are getting one! |

I listened to the game on the radio as I don’t have any of the pay per view channels. As a Cockney Red going into the game I feared the worse as in a 5-0 or worse. The longer the game went on the more I felt that we wouldn’t get humiliated. To go 1-0 up then 2-1 down then 2-2 I am very pleased with the result.Hopefully we can get a few more wins as we are still in the bottom half of the table and we could get sucked into a relegation dog fight. That’s something I never thought I would say but I am a realist and it is what it is. |

"Ten Hag needs to be brought up for war crimes for benching Amad all season!" . War crimes is a bit strong. He did start him first 4-6 games and he looked ok.Off the top of my head he had a goal or a assist.Erik ten Hag then bought back Garnacho but when he and Rashford didn’t produce much Amad should have been bought back in place of Rashford.

It was hyperbole... And it wasn't just Garnacho and Rashford. It was Antony, and Forson (remember him?) and he even play Mazraoui as a 10! |

I remember Forson playing a few games and I didn’t think a lot of him.Mazraoui as a #10 was totally wrong. I remember Antony debut against Arsenal where he scored and thinking he could be the answer to our right wing problems.Unfortunately for us that was as good as it got. |

Congrats to villa for joining Liverpool and Arsenal in the top 8 and straight into the last 16….
And city for getting through…. , which means with other results it’s likely the premier league will have 5 teams in next years champions league!
The other kicker is because of where they finished league in the knockout stages either city or Celtic are going to face Bayern Munich or Real Madrid!!! |

In the last 16…
Liverpool will face one of PSG, Monaco, Benfica or Brest
Arsenal will face one of Milan, PSV, Feyernoord or Juventus
Aston Villa will face one of Atalanta, Dortmund, sporting Lisbon or club Brugge
If Man City or Celtic get past Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, their last 16 opponents will be either atletico Madrid or bayer Leverkusen |

Cracking result for us although to be fair I'd expect nothing less at Old Trafford at the moment. It's not like beating Liverpool at Anfield or City at the Etihad. I'm expecting Everton in a couple of weeks to be a far harder test. |

Both teams really need to treat this as a big game. It's a relegation 6-pointer.
I personally think Utd are going to sneak a result. 0-1 or 1-2.
Apparently several of Spurs long-term injured are due to come back today, but it honestly doesn't matter who plays. Spurs are such an easy team to play against.
If we're being honest, Spurs have been garbage ever since the start of 2024. Injuries is only an excuse to a point. This 'Angeball till the wheels fall off' ideology isn't going to work at this level of the game, and at some point the manager has to adapt the tactics to his current circumstances.
I think Amorim is similarly a bit stubborn when it comes to his system, but I think he ultimately has a bit more nous than Ange, which is crazy to think considering he's about 25 years younger than him. |

I don’t think it’s a 6 point relegation game as both teams have a 10 point cushion over the bottom 4.I am not convinced that Amorim will change from his favoured 3 centre back system. However is if was take take a look at Premier League history then only Conte as Chelsea manager had won the Premier League playing 3 centre backs. Also Roy Evans as Liverpool manager got Liverpool into the top 4 on a couple of occasions playing the 3 centre backs. |

"It’s definitely not a relegation 6 pointer. Both teams still have 13 games left after this United or spurs will never go down "
I think man utd will get enough points and probably end up around 10-12th
Spurs on the other hand, I don't think they'll make it to 40pts. The only thing they have on their side is the +11 goal difference, which is like an extra 3 points considering the GD of the teams below them. But if they keep losing they won't even have this.
Ange Postecoglou needs to learn how to DRAW games sometimes. Spurs have the joint fewest amount of drawn games this season, with Southampton |

United have before, and that was after they had won the European cup..
No team is too big to go down if they don't perform..
Or have points deducted.. |

Yep. Those old enough will remember both Spurs and Man Utd were relegated during the 1970s, only a few years after both clubs had won European trophies.
Luton who were probably quite unlucky to go down last year, are now on the verge of dropping back into league one.
It really doesn't take much bad luck for a club to go into freefall. |

Not happy that Liverpool, arsenal and villa are all on the same side of the champions league draw… a Liverpool vs villa quarter final is probably the last thing they want
As an arsenal fan, preferred psv to feyernord so got that! Would have preferred the German quarterfinal to the Spanish one we got, if we can survive the first leg away, that 2nd leg at home would have the emirates bouncing! |

Rashford is definitely putting the effort in here at Villa, but I think his head is still dreaming of a move abroad.
As long as he keeps up the enthusiasm for the game I’m happy. We needed a bit of fresh blood as we have struggled with injuries this season, but if you listen to the press only London clubs have injuries
I hope Mings can overcome the latest one. He’s had a terrible time with knee problems. |

I believe Rashford has said himself he only intends this to be a loan. I think he still believes he's going to get an offer from Barcelona or some other European giant, which is just deluded .
He's a Crystal Palace/Fulham-level player at best based on his ability, frankly he's lucky to be getting game time at Aston Villa. |

If we believe what is true in the papers that Rashford is on £350k a week and Villa are paying 75% of it which equates to £262.5 a week.Do we really think Aston Villa are going to pay Man Utd £40million transfer and then pay Rashford £350k a week on a 4-5 year contract. For me the answer is no instead we will be stuck with him and we will possibly be loaning him out every season until his contract ends.As for him been a Crystal Palace / Fulham type player the way we and Rashford have performed the last 18months he is not good enough for them. It’s a good thing we have a 13 point cushion and Bruno Fernandes otherwise we would be fighting it out with Ipswich, Leicester to see who goes down with Southampton. |

"He's a Crystal Palace/Fulham-level player at best based on his ability, frankly he's lucky to be getting game time at Aston Villa."
Jesus wept! Great to see him doing well at Villa, amazing what playing for a decent club with a decent manager can do for a player's confidence. However the way Mateta is playing for us I think a bench place would be the best Rashford could hope for. Personally I think he's Man Utd level at best, not something we'd be interested in. |
