What do you like or dislike about your new book?
I am reading “Aghora trilogy” by Robert Svoboda - like: it’s intense and some way trying to connect science with rituals.
dislike: It’s too long - it’s trilogy.. |

I'm reading Lord of The Silver Bow by David Gemmell. I love all things Iliad so it's hard to fault it. But my favourite character from the Iliad who doesn't die in the Iliad dies in this book.
I'm also reading the Wheel of Time series, and The Problems of Philosophy (Bertrand Russell) but they've taken a back seat to Gemmell. |

I finally finished Wheel Of Time recently. Forgotten most of the beginning now so (appropriately enough) I might just start all over again.
I'm hovering around a few books and nothing is really taking. Mostly The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad, and a re-read of The Fellowship Of The Ring. |

"I’m reading both The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. "
They’re both really good, I’m very much a fan of Taylor Jenkins Reid, and I liked the TJ Klune but not as much, though I’ve just downloaded the sequel |

The Dubliners by James Joyce. I put it down a while ago and I'm struggling to find motivation to pick it back up. Not that it's bad because far from it it is very good. Just struggling to find motivation to read. |

It is fascinating "
Gosh I read that a lifetime ago. I remember he used to work at the Job Centre on Wardour St in Soho. |

Yes ...a very innocuous life - apart from murdering all those men |

It is very well written I remember. I won't say 'enjoy' but you know what I mean! |

"I’m reading a book about the rise of AI and how it’ll affect all our lives. It’s an eye opener.
And probably written by A.I too 🤣🤣🤣"
The foreword was, the book is written by one of the world’s foremost proponents of the technology. |

I’m reading House Of Open Wounds, by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It’s the second book in the Tyrant Philosophers series, and it’s wonderful. Inventive, occasionally funny, unpredictable, with an excellent cast of characters. |

Enjoy, the narrative is easier than most of his novels but still not necessarily a relaxed easy going read. My attention span is too short for such novels nowadays |

As ever, I'm late to the party but I've just started reading the Song of Ice and Fire novels.
I like the details of the first book and the plot is great, but some of the characters are incredibly annoying and feel a bit one-dimensional. Plenty of room for character development yet though! |

I loved the books but there are certain characters where I skim read their chapters to get to next ones 😂 |

"Winter in Madrid by CJ Sansom xx I do prefer his Shardlake series , but this is great too x "
Do the Shardlake series need to be read in order?
I wanted to start the series but my local library doesn't have the first two.
Recently read his Dominion book which was recommended to me as I enjoy Robert Harris |

Honestly, I am sure he is avoiding releasing them because of the poor reception to the ending of the TV show. So he's working on literally anything else 😂 |

Well.they are written in order as they have actual historical links that thread through the books , also their are running threads that you might not get , but story wise they do stand alone and it's not a major problem ...

I've just read " The Black tongue thief" it was a good read, with a few twists and a some humour thrown in.
I'm just about to start " The Reformatory " something I wouldn't normally read. Let's see how that pans out! |

"Butter - Asako Yuzuki
Dislike? Absolutely nothing. It's disturbingly glorious and I know I'll think about it once finished. "
Oh god, it's hard to describe how much I loved that book. It haunted me long after I finished it, but everyone I recommended it to just found it weird. |

Yes! It was your strong recommendation of it before that encouraged me to find it! A nice addition to zaftig.
Yeah, I can see why some might find it a bit weird. |

"The Fate of Abraham: Why the West is Wrong About Islam"
-Peter Obourne.
I'm finding it an interesting take, especially since it's by a conservative writer. |

An old friend of mine got a publishing deal through gemmell after he managed to give him a draft of his own book. |
