"I prefer mussels to oysters, but oysters are good.
There's steak and then there's steak. If it's a great steak then it's foodgasm time."
I agree with you about the steak. But I've never had a good steak in the UK. |

Celebrity chef restaurant food.
Granted my only experience was eating at Gordon Ramsey @ Claridges, but I was wholly unimpressed given the money I paid to dine there. |

I'm really not that interested in food
I mean I can cook and I occasionally bake, but food, for me, is quite often survival
As an example, last weekend, I went to Hebden Bridge
Some lovely little cafés there, but for me, a bag of chips and a take out coffee, is way more of an enjoyable experience than spending £15-£20 upwards for two courses and a drink in a restaurant or bar |

I do like beautifully presented, eclectic and often adventurous food but object to nouvelle cuisine when is used as an excuse to give you miniature portions I can't think of much I don't like ow will not try but not very find of very ho spice food that there is so much heat there that impairs the taste. |

"Pizza
Excuse the fuck out of me?
I'm with her on this one. Not all pizza. But I'm usually disappointed when it arrives in front of me"
Yeah, but that happens when you expect a pepperoni and end up with a vegan one |

Gold leaf flakes on vanilla ice cream served as a pudding in when I was working abroad recently … what a stupid arrogant show off waste of time! And the ice cream was bloody average …

FIVE GUYS
Why does that place always have queues out the door!?
You go to a restaurant to have something unique to that establishment. Then they make you make your own burger. I could do that at home! |

"I don't understand the obsession with Greggs at all. Like it's "okay" for a quick stop gap but people obsess over it. Why does evey town centre need 10 of them?"
I can’t understand it either, particularly since they’ve got shot of all the nice cakes they did and brought in shoddy sandwiches. |

Waterfields is good, it's not a huge chain like greggs. Food tastes fresh. |

Mcdonalds, we had Wimpy already.
Pizza, it's cheese on toast with ketchup...and maybe some pineapple.
Beef Wellington, what a load of malarkey.
Aero chocolate, it's chocolate with air in it.
Easter eggs, it's chocolate with even more air in it. I've just paid for fucking air.

Popcorn, without the tarting up it's cardboard nuggets.
Cream crackers, without the cheese it's cardboard tiles.
Muesli it's cardboard.
Avocado, more cardboard.
Coconut, yep you guessed it, cardboard. |

Yeah, we don't even have one of them!
We do have a Subway... Pointless! I'd rather a Tesco meal deal 😅 |

Waterfields based in Leigh and nearly 100 years old. About 40 shops in NW England but closed down a few in the last decade. I still miss a Pimblett's meat and potato pie! |

"Salami
Cinnamon
Lamb"
Almost all of the cinnamon sold in the world is a crap substitute, Chinese acacia. It’s bitter and tanninous and slightly hot. Real Ceylon cinnamon is sweet, smooth and tasty. Almost vanilla like. |

Cheap dates are fun. IKEA is famous for this and has a cafe and a restaurant in MK.
Have you tried the 'to good go app'? For £4 or so you get a paper bag full of today's fresh food, that's a random mix of breads, cakes and pastries from a certain bakery chain. This is used by supermarkets as well as other bakers. Typically on a good day your lucky bag is worth about £12, others, just £7. |
