No real surprise that females get swamped with replies here, so hard for most males to get replies.
I did see some females had a few hundred replies but Sarah Simpson has said she has over 3000 to choose from.
Must be some kind of record. |

I have no inkling on who this "Sarah Simpson" is; clearly I haven't lived.
Women put more focus on the qualitative factor when trying to overcome the quantitative issue. Men, on the other hand, are contrary to the above.
Ignoring everything else — how well men do on here has little to do with the actions (or inactions) of other men when it comes to "getting replies". |

About 18 months ago I found a dating app with a two week premium free trial, made a female account (I'm MtF trans) and posted some of my better, least clocky pics.
Instantly flooded, even as a masculine looking 50 year old, I was getting 50ish messages a day. I never touched the swipe function, picked three of four messages a day to reply to. Depending on how it went I did tell them I was trans either straight away or after a couple of hours.
I think one man admitted he saw I was trans, everyone else said they didn't know.
One or two blocked me but the majority were still up for it.
That is to say that on a dating app with a £35 a month subscription even objectively unattractive women are overwhelmingly inundated.
Men, if you want to be noticed, make an effort. Post nice pics, have a good bio. Be likable if youb want to be liked.
On here get on the forums and interact. There's lots more people just watching teen there are contributing and your posts are as much of an advertisement as your profile.
You have to stand out, be original. The best thing to do is assume you've already b faded into the background and WORK to fix that. |

I think it’s very easy for men to blame for lack of replies entirely on the volume of messages women receive. As a single woman, on a busy day I could easily get a couple of hundred messages even with filters - so I’m not saying it isn’t a factor.
But the reality is this mean women just get smarter about what they read and what they reply to. So I think it’s more about men needing to get smarter too about what they send and who they send it to.
That’s not to say you’re guaranteed a reply if you fit the bill on paper (that bit’s important). Women still have plenty of choice once they’ve ed out the people who’ve made no effort, are outside of preferences, are crude/abusive etc.
But my point is, the sheer volume of messages isn’t the reason some men aren’t getting replies. It’s easy to blame an external factor but there are many (not just men actually!) who could benefit from reviewing their approach.

As has been observed above - volume of messages is _not_ the issue. I am a single male and my messages generally get read and responded to. If it were purely down to volume then I would be in the same boat. I am not.

Speaking only for myself, here's a representation of the top 1% of messages I get (so, the top 30 in 3k messages, not that I've ever had that many)
* Interacts with my profile in some way. Not "nice profile" or "hot pics". Something that shows they're engaging with me, as opposed to anyone else
* More than one sentence. I didn't say a novel, I literally mean more than one sentence. Two sentences, maybe three.
* Respects my stated preferences
* Shows evidence that they regard me as a human being entitled to the same level of respect and courtesy that they are.
I don't reply to all of these messages - profile also matters, as do my preferences and requirements. But if you want to be the 1 in 100, the top 30 in a "top hot pics" inbox - start there. |

Men don't get many replies because most don't read or take notice of what someone has written on their profile.
I get messages from lots outside of my preferred age range especially 20 year old somethings...Why would I bother replying when that is clearly not what I am looking for.....and before anyone says "use filters"...Why should women have too?
If more men thought with their brain instead of their dick there might be less moaning on the forums about not getting replies! |

A reply very much depends upon the message received…we reply to most that are decent, however many are simply not worth the reply, it’s evident by the message they aren’t people that we’d want to speak further with and so by not replying we save the undoubted hassle of them replying to the thanks but no thanks |

I'd guess we average 10 a day depending on how active we.
If we post photos or any kind of status update that doubles or triples.
10 a day is plenty we find more quality than we can meet though we wish we could. |

I can’t reply to most to be fair. I open a percentage. Would take days. Filters I have a few. Issue is when a photo gets to page one, the messages flow in. That number isn’t the amount I get a day. Just the amount over a few days. X |

It's not the amount or the size of your inbox that counts, it's what you do with it. Filters are important.
If you get loads of messages but you don't see anybody as so many on here don't, then what's the point? I think some people just like lots of attention. Whatever floats your boat really.
I only get a few messages daily but I meet guys quite regularly. So for me it's quality not quantity. |
