Has anyone here met someone on a game? I met someone on a mud (like wow but text based yes really) in 2001 and ended up living with him. So I was a bit ahead of this curve.

The Deep Dark Woods

I think this article is overstaying things a bit. I think there will always be a market for dating apps and they will adapt and adjust to what the market wants.

I would agree with this as I said people have been meeting in online games for decades.

A guy a had a very long relationship with (all of my 20s) created a MUD. I never got into it but he loved it. He would create little worlds for me, very á la Marie Antoinette, haha

I met my husband chatting on a Bulletin Board System (BBS) based in Iowa, USA around 1995. All text based too… all we had was Mosaic to browse the web but just to actually do any uni work. And to see what each other looked like, it was sending a printed photograph by post.

As I said before, SO GLAD I’m neither young/in the dating scene now. 👵🏻 👵🏻 👵🏻

Glad at least someone knew what a mud is!! Watching my daughter go through it i would agree it's much harder now. I would like to have a younger body back though.

This is all marvellously romantic. 💕

o o OO o o

I’ve chatted to folk I’ve played games with but in my experience they were based in Australia and somewhere up in Glasgow, so not ideal.

If I wanted to date, seriously, then I would use a dating site/app.
