I can’t wait to make my way to Manchester hoping for better and quiet place to live. Been in London 10 years and I feel is literally suffocating. I need something else so I choose Manchester. Job wise I hope it’s okay as I have to start over again with new costumers but I should be fine, everyone need a plumber lol.

Anyone has similar experience, how is life in Manchester compared with London?

I've been here all my life

House prices vary wildly - city centre and south of the city tend to be pricier

There's no shortage of work for good tradespeople

I hope your move goes well

The distance between the centre and the countryside is much shorter, which is nice. And the house prices are cheaper, but honestly, still not "cheap".

You'll live with the uncomfortable knowledge that Birmingham is a better city.

But you can definitely make a good life here.

Central

Manchester is generally a more friendly place to be, than London.

Brucey, a forum regular, came up for a while for work but only lasted a few weeks. I think his lack of his predicted success with women, was one factor.

It could be very exciting and it's definitely lower cost than London
