Does the UK have anything similar?

After my new fave style of dresses (in pic) have inspired us to look into this kind of festival but Germany is a bit out of our range & we'd really like to get into it, costumes & all.

Walsall

You may well find a few pubs or clubs do OctoberFest theme nights here.

Honeslty though, you can get to Munich and do the real thing for cheaper than you think. I have been a number of times now. If you enjoy the dressing up and atmosphere it is a lot of fun.

Try searching "Oktoberfest events UK". That'll give you some listing sites.

Since Brexit the UK is not allowed to hold them in October.

Oh yes of course. And we can only serve ale in pints and yards, not litres

I am a traditionalist. I still use goat's intestine. Condom de Chèvre. You should visit France for a Johnny Hallyday holiday.

Manchester has one. I loved the idea and dressing in the traditional dirndl.

The downside though, it was full of chavs.

Your dirndl was full of chavs ?

I wonder if you can get cream for that?

I went to one in Newport, South Wales a few years ago. Was in a giant tent, steins of beer was overly expensive, the music was shit as the speakers kept cutting out, the porta-loos were gross, and as per usual when there's alcohol involved the inevitable fighting took place. Tickets were around £20 each. I'm pretty sure they travel around the country.

It's an old tradition where they bring down the cows off the alps for winter and the beer fest is the celebration for it
