Image filters and photoshopping

Browsing the hot photos & videos today I’m noticing a number of them have been manipulated with either filters or editing. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it should become the norm and allowed or do you think this should be stopped? |

If it makes someone feel good then let them use a filter, or edit a photo. But be honest about it if you are going to meet, and provide an unedited photo, because otherwise you're lying and deceiving.
I've got photos that are filtered, but the people that see them have probably already seen what I look like anyway. |

I took a quick look and yes there are some people with suspiciously smooth skin but other than that I don't see a problem, people can upload any version of themselves they like. Or could be their phone selfie function is set to 'improve' the photos automatically. It's easy to scroll past photos that seem enhanced to plenty of photos that are natural |

Yeah I feel as though I should add... I don't think there's anything wrong with editing within reason. It's just the norm these days. I mean we take another shot if the angle is bad... Go with the tech. But I do think there's a line. An vs you know where it is when you see someone in the flesh lol |

I mostly tend to use filters when I'm being daft, or having a shit day, and will pick something with ears or horns. So if they think I'm turning up with a button nose and fox ears then that's on them 😂😂 |

I think a lot of people use filters to some extent or another.
I use colour effects, and once I got rid of a pimple on my arse. Any more than that feels dishonest to me. (But it's one reason to always have a social first, because so many people do edit deceptively!) |

Haha yes well that does raise a point over parameters at least. I'm assuming we're talking about passing images of as a true representation of ourselves.

I don’t use filters, but I do use black & white sometimes, as they make my wrinkles disappear!
I find it hard enough to get guys to believe I’m a big girl, because I have a ‘thin face’
Really no point for filters on here if you have to meet somebody face to face, they’re ok for Instagram & posing.
Each to their own though …

I use lighting filters but beyond that can't be arsed.
What others do doesn't really bother me but I've often wondered about the point of over filtering.
Scrolling through profiles that used to appear in local updates there were at least a dozen that were indistinguishable from the rest.
They were all using the same filters and virtually all their pics were identical.
It just seemed like overkill.
I've never been catfished but I've been introduced to people at socials and they were at the opposite end of the spectrum from how their pics portrayed them. |

I don't have any issues - how people want to portray themselves is up to them.
My phone shots are cropped, sometimes flipped, straightened, exposure contrast & saturation adjusted. Sometimes a colour / b+w filter is applied. Text added, frame added.
It's still me at the end of the day.
My raw shots (non-fab) are even more processed - cropped, masking, adjustments, cloning/healing, exposure, collage etc - this is normal if you use Lightroom / photoshop... |

We don't use any filters or photo shopping, we're technophobes so wouldn't know how! We just snap on the phone, take us or leave us. People can portray themselves how they wish, it all becomes apparent at a meet, or in the verifications. |

I would also say are people confusing makeup with filters??
I have watched make-up videos with my jaw on the floor and imo make-up is far more 'deceptive' than a photo filter!
And then where do we draw the line - fillers, plumpers .. what about dying hair/ beards? Or false hair pieces?? |

How other people present themselves is their business, it doesn't bother me. I'll put a filter on if I don't like the lighting in a photo, and regularly edit out blemishes and spots; it's all part of wanting other people to see me at my best so I can seduce them. |

It’s entirely up to the poster.
The only way if has any bearing on us is if we arrange to meet and they look nothing like the pictures at all.
With us what you see is what you get pretty much.

All my pics are cropped, straightened, filtered for lighting/contrast etc. shock horror I’m not actually monochrome in real life. I don’t change my actual appearance but filtering the lighting on a photo is fairly standard practice.

People are just putting their best foot forward and angles, fillers, filters and makeup are just what it takes for some people to feel confident enough to post or send an image.
For others it's art and expression.
Either way it can be disappointing or surprising when one meets someone and they appear quite different than the initial impression.
I don't think anyone should be surprised or outraged though. It's been the norm for years. |

People using very old pictures are a bigger problem on here than the use of a few light filters.
Some profiles have pictures so old that I doubt they were even taken using a smartphone.
I've seen a few accounts using gender swap apps and AI generation in pictures, but they're often quite easy to spot. |

I embellish all my photographs without compunction — highlights, cropping, monochrome & sepia and anything else to make them look creative, imaginative and artistic. I don't manipulate them to change my physical appearance however.
I'm not bothered if others do the same, I don't see any problem with it. I care less if others have an issue with my approach; it's my profile, my prerogative, my necromancy.
It should be allowed.
It shouldn't be discouraged. |

It irritates me, especially amongst my fellow Tgirls. We try to look as feminine as possible and using an app just feels like cheating and is totally unfair on anyone who meets them on the strength of fake pics. |

Removing spots or hiding background objects not a problem for us, fixing lighting that isn’t great, so tweaking a photo, but skin smoothing and especially changing anything physical is just pointless unless you are going to only ever stay online.

Yes a wig and makeup can be worn at a meet so you can still look the same as in the photo, same with figure hugging clothes, you can’t photoshop yourself realtime 
Tan wise, don’t see it as a problem, people get tans on holiday and loose them, kez likes a pale skinned lady though

If I'm going to meet someone I tend to send them a make up free selfie before the day so they know what they're getting 😅 but I don't see any issue with tweaking your pics to make them look better as long as you aren't totally misrepresentating how you look. Sex is a contact sport, they're gonna see you in all your real life glory at some point. |

I don't use filters because I have no idea how to.
I've got filter apps and I've put selfies through them, but they always come out kinda "uncanny valley".
Plus I'm not trying to hide anything or trick anyone. What you see is what you get. |

These days they make look like a complete different person just look at peoples Facebook photos that you know in real life my niece is bad for it looks like a whole different person even looks 5 stone lighter somehow haha honestly half the people if didn’t know in real life and arranged to meet for first time ever would walk in the pub and not even be able to pick out who it is |

Personally I think do whatever you want and then it’s up to each individual how they react to them. I don’t mind artistic creativity in the sense of colour, cropping, light, tone, saturation etc. when you’re using just a phone, that’s how to get the effects of studio equipment. I myself like to see skin tone and embrace reality in pics I love. Others want an airbrush finish or little doggy ears. Whatever floats your boat |

Photoshopping is a very normal part of the process and always has been... Even before photoshop you had the Darkroom.
Fab has made me cynical and I don't trust images even when unedited as composition, angle and focal length can completely change a person's appearance. |

Everyone will always post a better version of themselves - they aren’t going to show the pics that they’ve taken that’s caught their belly bigger or the angle where they look like they have 4 chins or their cock too small/flaccid looking.
We all use pics at ‘our best angle’ or ‘our best self’ as we are selling ourselves. We want to capture our sexiest selves.
Is someone wearing lingerie in pics but spends 23.5 hours in their pyjamas, lying? Or a gent in a suit looking all broody but then wears a tracksuit for the day, pulling the wool over your eyes?
We enjoy creating pics - creating that image of sexiness. So we’ll take out a plug or crop out the dog or retake a pic if there’s a pair of boxers on the floor. We’ll change the lighting to set the mood more, play with different set filters or darken areas so keeping the viewers eyes on the areas we want them to see more of.
We all post pics to show ourselves off.
We’ve never altered our body shape and we send face pics (again they’ll be one we are happy to send) and no one has ever met us and walked straight out again or walked right passed us or said you don’t look like your pics.
As long as your pics reflect you, then I have no problem with trying to show off your sexiest self.

It’s difficult to find an image that hasn’t been enhanced either by the camera or phone camera in settings before the picture is taken..
I don’t mind the odd blemish removed but smoothing out skin etc to the extent it becomes totally blemish free is going to far, unless of course your a magazine photographer/ editor, or film star.. |

Don't know if it's been mentioned but it's not just filters and photo adjustment nowadays - Online scams work on whole image generation don't they? Put a b&w or sepia tone on something or focus on an area or a close up body part and AI will do the rest if you can use it.
A few years ago there was a Chinese tuber in her 60's who had quite a following and made a decent living posting whatever for her livestream. Her face filter dropped without her knowing, until then no-one really knew it was so widely available or so realistic to have people believe you were someone else. |

I use Photoshop and I light my photos to look better in them with photography flashes.
I also make a lot of effort to look good irl.
The biggest thing guys could do on here to increase their chances is better photos. |

I think if they've used filters to an extent that they no longer resemble themselves, that's wrong and very duplicitous.
Especially if they intend meeting others and showing up looking really different.
Someone I know on social media used filters on her profile pic, to the extent that I wouldn't have recognised the person in the pic. I initially thought she'd used a pic of her granddaughter as her profile pic.
The odd tweak here and there is fine, but full on changing how you actually look is cat fishing. |

My current profile pic has lots of editing. Not my body, but the brightness, contrast, saturation, a vignette. I wanted a Renaissance feel (wanky but true). I normally disguise/minimise the squidge in my photos but I find it super sexy on other women do I decided to try a different style. 🤷♀️
Also background blur is a gift from the photo-editing gods. |

This isn't really practical.
The photo moderators have difficulties merely identifying photos which are rude from ones which aren't, as it is.
I have little faith in their ability to distinguish between light filter effects and full-on appearance augmentation using AI or makeup apps. |

If I show up for a coffee and the person I meet is more than x% different than my impression from pictures, we don't proceed further.

Depends what you mean by manipulated and editing. Technically all of our public photos are edited to make them darker and more shadows.
Nothing about our body shapes or size has been changed. We are happy to share the originals and clear, well lit, unedited face pictures privately. We want to give people a visual version of a basic description, without being immediately recognisable to people who are just browsing profiles and may know us.
We aren't bothered about people knowing we are on fab and that we meet people on here for sex, but as Mr has adult kids, we feel like its inappropriate to be on a public forum plastering full face pictures alongside explicit sexual images. If one of them joined themselves and came across our profile, they'd realize it was us, but it's not the same as them or one of their mates clicking into public gallery, and immediately seeing their dad and another bloke DPing me, fully lit picture with faces visible and realizing the cock in the profile picture they've just been having a look at belongs to your dad/mates dad.
We feel like someone looking at our profile as is, who looks at our pictures and realizes they know us, has the chance to leave and block us and pretend they never saw us (I came across my step brothers profile on here, he has a head shot as his profile picture, and I blocked him without reading any unwanted information and we have never mentioned it)
If they then choose to screenshot and go out of their way to let close relatives know every detail, they're the one in the wrong and clearly an absolute weirdo and feel the need to cause trouble or shame us to family for us doing something they only know we do because they're on here doing the same.
It takes away any possibility of "Well I was just looking and the first thing I clicked on was a full face pic I couldn't not notice" being used.
