Dusty Springfield is often overlooked in favour of others from the time and for an other overlooked absolute gem, Tracey Thorn of EBTG- even if you ignore the EBTG catalogue, her performance on Massive Attacks Perfection is exquisite!

I agree, true Elvis did say that.

Personally I liked Elvis post army as best choice. His range was incredible by then and he could have sang a Chinese menu and it would have sounded good.
