Gentleman (Part 3): Showering.

My dear gentle-fellows, squires, chancers, lotharios and those princes amongst men...

When showering do you keep things simple by cleansing with a non-fussy bar of soap or do you have a favourite shower gel that you swear by?

Is showering just a quick ablution to get the job done or a ritual for you to enjoy and melt away those muscle aches?

Depends on how i am feeling.

Morning shower is always quick with body wash and shampoo.

But the evening one is always slower and often just stand there with the hot water running.

It can be very relaxed.

Shampoo conditioner and body wash used. Lots of sweat during the day especially in the summer.

I often shower at clients houses too but they are always quick.

I know, it’s tragic innit.

It’s just one of those daffy things that I hate doing despite its necessity to keep the flies at bay.

You have a broad spectrum routine that I admire. It certainly works for you. 🩶

"The Flies At Bay" would be a great name for a rock band.

Mancave shampoo and separate conditioner.

L'Oréal barbershop range face and beard wash.

L'Oréal barbershop range shower gel because I love the lasting smell of cedarwood.

Rarely more than 5 or 6 minutes though.

Mr. Bites, you're on a metrosexual roll (on) this evening. When you're next in London we shall imbibe over a non-alcoholic Gin.

A den in the Glen

Head a shoulders posh one, crank heat up. Imperial leather soap then when bar is finished, put the sticker on the glass somewhere.

What is this ‘showering’ of which you speak?

And the soap? 🤔

Is it to do with washing? If so, no. I just brush off the worst of it each weekend.

I just use Dove for Men shower gel which feels nice on the skin and reduces irritation as well as being manly AF! 💪💪💪

If your ablutions include a traditional roll-top cast iron bath, then who am I to argue?

Dove. ✔️

Radox. ✔️

Shower gel - tingly teatree - on a massage sponge then shampoo. Really makes a difference to how I feel first thing.

I only have a bathtub and like a nice hot soak. Ted Baker shampoo at the moment. Separate beard shampoo and conditioner.

I don’t generally fit in a bath

Shower and I like a nice soap bar. Shampooing too with a half decent one.

Morning routine:

Brush teeth, with manual brush and Euthymol.

Shower for 5-10 min and wash with Original Source shower gel.

Cotton bud each ear hole.

Good to go

I cannot hide my disappointment in you. You have let me down Nerø but more importantly you have let yourself down.

I love the smell of Vosene shampoo, it takes me back to my childhood so it's the only one I'd use on my hair. I'm allergic to a lot of shower gels, Lynx, Source and Dove (to mention a few), so I only use Nivea Sensitive, as it doesn't irritate my skin.
