When you fancy someone and you pluck up the courage to tell them, do they usually reciprocate?
If you already have a friendship or something, does it make it awkward? |

50/50 I think. We're not all for everyone are we.
I have a friend who I am completely besotted with. She knows now, doesn't feel the same. It's a bit shit like but she's a good person, and I'd rather keep her in my life than lose her because it'll never be anymore. |

I can be very reserved and pretty much wait for them to indicate that they fancy me before I say it back. I'm quite shielded like that and hate the feeling of being hurt so avoid it where I can.
I've probably missed out by not being brave enough it's something I want to do more of |

I find a lot of people sexually attractive and it’s rare that they fancy me back.
But it is what it is |

I never approach people first so I don't have this awkward situation 😅 I was friendzoned so many times in my 20s I gave up. If someone is interested in me they can come tell me, otherwise I am happy living my life |

People I am friends with first I don’t tend to expect anything more from. I wouldn’t want to change the friendship if they didn’t feel the same way so they would need to very direct that they fancied me for me to do anything about it.

Yeah, I tell 'em.
Sometimes they reciprocate, sometimes they don't. I've usually met them in person at a social event or for a coffee before I know if I fancy them, though. I don't send any first messages knowing that I fancy anybody. |

Usually yes.
If I have a friendship or something already, I think I would’ve made it a little bit obvious from the beginning.
I think if you have a platonic friend and then all of a sudden you tell them you fancy them, that would be seen as a red flag either you’re playing games with that person or not being honest. Of course occasionally attraction it slowly overtime, but you can still be transparent about that as it’s happening. |

"When you fancy someone and you pluck up the courage to tell them, do they usually reciprocate?

Yes. I've never really been turned down. That's not because I'm truly stunning or anything like that, I just don't usually say anything unless I'm fairly certain it'll be reciprocated to some extent.
It's never made a friendship awkward. I normally don't find people attractive unless there's a friendship already there so... it works for me. Actually no, it's ruined a friendship a couple of times after it's gone tits up and that's awkward. Not for me so much
 |

Nope. I wait to see if they like me, before I let slip that I'm attracted to them 🫣 Probably not the best approach, but it's working for us 🤣 Tbf, on here, everyone I've liked (and messaged with) have liked me back. Idk if it'd be the same meeting someone away from Fab 🤷♀️ |

I'd say no they don't, more than yes they do. But I don't have the personality to spend forever messaging people, I'd rather meet them and let them judge me in person. People that meet me generally want to see me again. People that I message are hit and miss because I don't want to spend my life on my phone building an online connection. |

Of course they reciprocate. Have you seen me!???
😝
Friends on the other hand would normally remain that. If my feelings towards them changed I'm sure i would say something. It doesn't need to be awkward as I wouldn't expect them to feel the same way, but I'd feel awkward if I wasn't honest with them. I think. |

I'll answer this from within the confines of Fab, as opposed to real life.
It's not easy because the majority of people I chat to are so geographically dispersed that it's nigh on impossible to just come out and tell them that I fancy them across the ether. A perfectly harmonious conversation can go horribly wrong if I'm upfront about my attractions towards them.
Instead I rely on wordplay, textual nuances and ruffling of my plumage to see if they pick up on my roundabout way of telling them that — "y'know, I quite fancy you..." sort of thing.
And if they don't fancy me back...I just whitewash the messaging until the conversation becomes just friendly. It's a wonderfully spineless way of testing the waters of acceptance and rejection. |

As I only approach them face to face, and I'm pretty good at reading body language. Yes.
Online I have a literal mind and often misread a situation, so its easier if I like him, to arrange a social asap to gauge his attraction to me.
With friends it's normally been a testing snog, sometimes the chemistry is there, sometimes it's not, I've never lost a friendship from that though |

People fancy my friends not me, however in the past when I left a company I told two staff members 'goodbye and I really fancied you' and apparently if they had known then they would have done something about it.
So me and my low self-esteem reckons this means I'm not fanciable but they'll take one for the team of they know I'm a dead cert. |

I’ve told people I fancy them it’s not been a mutual thing. I don’t mind, I’m not naive enough to think that everyone I fancy will fancy me in return.
Those that do, result.

Me & the Mrs are always casually looking for talent when we are out & about & we reckon we are only attracted to a maximum of about 5% of people that we see.
So if this is typical, you can see how hard it is for two couples to match up. |
