"Does anyone else harness the power of a cold shower every day? I find the impact amazing and really sets me up for the day ahead."
Yes have a hot shower first then turn it to cold really refreshing having been in a ice bath shower is easy. |

Absolutely, I do cold then hot, the cold. I need at least 30 seconds of cold, also going cold first means a brief moment of mindfulness as I prepare. |

No I hate them. There is a very overweight girl who frequents the gym I go to and absolutely hammers the sauna alternating it with cold showers & I’m thinking, that really can’t be good. In her situation I think I would be lessening the stress on the body, but her body, her choice etc
The one exception I’ll make is going in the cold plunge pool after being heated up to the temperature of the suns surface at the Turkish Bath in Harrogate. That was ok & tolerable! |

That’s pretty much what I do.3-5 x per day. I think the idea that the stress of the body is beneficial, which is pretty much the principle of any kind of exercise. I would love to have a plunge pool, although I’m told these are far more dangerous and all you actually need is 30 to 60 seconds of cold water per day through a shower.l to get the benefits |

Yes I get the theory, but in her case I’m thinking ‘heart attack imminent’. I’d shift the excess weight first myself through diet & moderate exercise without the shock therapy. |

"I would sooner be unhealthy and die young taking hot showers than taking a cold one and living an extra 5 years.
I thought all you Scots were hard core and swim daily in the lochs "
