Handshake first. If there's mutual conviviality between myself and the other person then a hug.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I stoop and bow in appropriate reverence whilst performing a waving gentlemanly hand gesture, my liege 👍🏻

Don’t mind handshakes but I’m not into the firm handshake nonsense, sending messages through a handshake? Give me a break. If you shake my hand in an overly firm manner that is abnormal, I’ll think you are a bit of a to$$er, sorry. Nice & natural however, not a problem. Well, apart from the spreading of germs possibly.

Hugger. Makes job interviews less formal for me and less comfortable for them.

I'm not a hugger, it makes me uncomfortable with people I don't know well and come to think about it with people I do know well too, my family and partner being the exception.

One of my oldest friends decided about five years ago that it was time we started hugging. I still get slightly nervous beforehand.

Handshakes with colleagues or anyone I’ve never spoken to.

Hugs with people I’ve flirted with for ages or been friends with for ages

Definitely a hugger! But… as years have gone on I’ve realised a lot of people don’t like to be tactile.

So handshake on entry and a big ol squeeze on exit if we have really got on!

I don't mind either.

Fist bumps seem to be creeping in and are generally awkward and as for high fives.... Fuck off!

I love a hug, but I always ask before I go in for one in case the other person isn't a hugger.

Handshakes for work though!
