Anyone else’s wife/girlfriend on these Mounjaro injections for weight loss? They seem to be all the rage at the minute, know a few girls on them and getting hot new figures really quickly.
My Mrs has just started on them. |

Make sure she ups her protein and takes calcium as a supplement. She will lose weight but that will be lean muscle mass unless she takes more protein and does some sort of resistance training. She will also lose calcium as well and this needs to be counteracted by taking the calcium supplements.

I started them 6 weeks ago.... i haven't got on the scales but I've noticed a difference in my clothes waist and triple chin 🤣 |

She needs to get onto some HRT if she's not already. I was told by a doctor that it is possible to be prescribed testosterone which would help with her libido. |

I think you're probably right. Though potentially moving to newer generations of similar drugs, as they become available. It's good that the benefits don't seem just limited to what may come, from just the weight loss!
The fact that someone might need them forever, may deter some from starting, as it's a bigger commitment. |

Weight loss pictures from guys always impresses me with how much muscle they have hidden underneath from lugging around a bigger engine.

£200 for the highest. You build up to it over time.
It's not cheap, but equate how much you'll save in food.  |

About £130 a month 😵💫 that’s a lot! £1,560 a year or £15,600 for a ten year course.
I’m glad I chose to join the gym and work out than injections! (But do appreciate that not everyone can). |

I've been on Mounjaro since April. A stone and a bit down. Building better habits and fixing my relationship with food using NLP. I'm off them for the next month due to crashing my car and not having the funds
Will see how I go . I do plan to restart it as I've another 3 stome to loose . |

I have been prescribed this since last July to help with my blood sugar levels despite being on triple therapy medication wise, losing weight by changing habits and exercising more since my diagnosis in 2018
I’m currently on 7.5 mg and my diabetic nurse said I won’t go higher
By 6 months my blood sugar levels had halved which was the main objective of it being prescribed |

Weight loss injections don’t create a change in lifestyle. In addition, those who have been a considerable weight would have already changed their body on a metabolic level so doesn’t mitigate the potential for the development of other comorbidities attributes to high body mass.
Sudden weight loss can cause as many problems
And can result in lower levels of self-esteem that pre-treatment levels.
Injections aren’t a solution but an adjunct. |

I'm waiting to go on them my GP said I can't at moment to high risk as pancreatitis is a side effect of munjaro and been hospitalised twice in 2 months with it but once have my gallbladder out I'll be starting them as daughter been on them few months and it does make a difference |

My m8 was on it for about 4/5 months lost 25kg in weight .but totally screwed his mind set on food .he would gage wilst eating like he was aving 2 eat a plate of shit even thou it would be his favourite meal and he would only do few mouthfuls. He's off it now and as only put 2kg back on since December x |

I was prescribed this for blood sugars not weight loss. The injection contains the gip hormone which stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas
Obviously losing weight also will hopefully help with lowering blood sugars |

This hormone increases insulin production in the pancreas and therefore reduces high blood sugars
Ozempic also suppresses glucagon - a hormone that releases stored glucose in the body and therefore reduces high blood sugars that way too.
Finally it reduces gastric emptying which means you feel fuller for longer which helps even more with suppressing appetite and therefore losing weight - another reason it works really well for t2 diabetes
Personally as someone who has gastroparesis, and t1 diabetes the thought of intentionally giving myself GP is horrifying. However I do understand it works for so many

Thank you both for taking the time to explain it for me, I ask in case they offer me it with me having type 2 they do consider me overweight at just under 100kg yet I’m well below average bodyfat but blood sugars were through the roof somehow 1ac was 106 at diagnosis down to 83 at last appointment with help of metfotmin and glicazide |

Type 2 is associated with being overweight but over 1/3 of t2 aren’t obese, so you fall into that category. |
