I've never seen the benefit of educating myself on things that have no relevance in my life or that I have never experienced.

We can’t be informed about everything, and choosing where to direct our energy matters. But when it comes to things that affect us directly, burying our heads in the sand doesn’t make reality any less real, it just means we’re less prepared when reality catches up. Ignorance might feel comfortable for a while, but bubbles have a habit of bursting. Taking ownership of our lives means facing things as they are, even when it’s not easy. |

Very true on the everything and happy that there are things I don’t know and might discover. Enjoy being curious about different new things. Also agree need to face thing that are not easy to especially when it is possibly a negative about ourselves |

I don't have time in my life for maybes or what ifs. There are already too many things going on that are relevant to my daily life and focusing on those are much more of a priority than educating myself on a broad spectrum of subjects just so I can say I understand.
For me that would be doing them a disservice because as the old saying goes "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing".
It's much more important and beneficial to know a lot about a little than it is to know a little about a lot. |

Ignorance is bliss to some degree - I pick up the paper and read all the shit going on and then worry too much about it.
Also everyone is an expert on everything now, even if they know nothing and so sometimes it’s best not listening and making sure your own little world is ok before you look at the bigger picture.
If it’s going to have an affect on my life, I’ll study more and take it in, if it’s not then I can quite contently shut it all out.

No because the term used was ignorant bubble which implies closing myself off to everything because I can't be arsed.
I'm not living in a bubble. I just choose to not have an opinion on everything because some things have no relevance at all in my life and therefore knowledge of those things is superfluous.
People on fab seem to have a major issue with those who don't have an opinion on certain subjects and are quick to instruct or school on how they should change that and casually throw in that failure to do so is somehow ignorance.
My point is that I'm already focusing on vital and important issues that affect me every day so why should I go looking for info on things that may well be important to others but have never crossed my path.
I have zero interest in religion or politics simply because of how both have succeeded in dividing the country I was born and raised in and how I had to live through the consequences of that.
I now only focus on the things that unite people rather than divide us and I fail to see how that can be classed as living in a bubble?
