When you need it quickly
Jump to: Newest in thread
A lot of you will know that I enjoy cooking. Most of the time I try to eat healthily (cake and chocolate excluded) but not always, especially recently. I have never been a big fan of takeaways except perhaps the odd chinese in the past and of course some fish and chips from time to time. If I was ever in a hurry for a takeaway or more specifically a quick grab (fast food) of something from an easily accessible outlet, what would you suggest? A big mac or wrap, greggs's sausage, the kings chicken burger, a sub or perhaps something else? Help a rather vanilla forumite where fast outlets and food are concerned please. I promise not to make a habit of it . Thank you. |

Indian street-food is finger-licking good.
I've got a lot of love for American fast food. Wendy's and Popeye's are the best we have here. Fiveguys was good but it's gone a bit downhill.
It really comes down to the quality of the place. If you find a good bakery then humble pie, can be a delight.
A burrito is always bursting with flavour and there's a wide margin of error - it's hard to get wrong.
In forgotten corners you can often find old-school greasy spoons. Breakfast on a bun, barm, stottie whatever and a proper brew. Still have change for t'bus home out of a tenner. |

Thanks. It's just if I need something quick after a long day on way back. Somewhere easy to park and get quickly pr drive thru. The ones I mentioned were just examples. Might just go for a pizza, prbably safer though not sure there are drive thrus for that. |

I occasionally have a takeaway but not from fast food places. I was 22 when I had my first KFC, and I didn't try burger king until January this year.
I've spent a good chunk of time in motorway services in the last 6 months and so far the only thing I've bought that I've actually liked is halloumi fries from burger king. They're incredibly salty and normally barely lukewarm but somehow they're perfect with a coffee under harsh lighting with lift music playing in the background. |

"Since I've been on my healthy eating plan I know longer have takeaways.
I do keep a couple of ready meals in the freezer but so fat untouched"
You have been incredibly good recently from what I have seen. Keep it up, I always try to eat healthily, recently not as good as I used to be |

Chicken tikka open kebab
There's a little place nearby
They cook the naans whilst you wait
Then pop the chicken tikka pieces on top
Then but a lovely crisp fresh salad on the side - sliced cabbage, cucumber, tomato, fresh chillies and lemon juice
They divine
I love fresh tasting food that doesn't leave you feeling slovenly afterwards |

"Love a bit of healthy eating too
Take away: KFC 2 mini fillets.
Eat in: Wagamama Katsu curry
At home: black pudding and eggs or steak and eggs and cook the eggs in the steak oil.
"
I was very unimpressed with wagamamas, I found the food alot better taste and quality and a helluva lot cheaper in 'the sushi co' and |
