That’s an extraordinary film; one about Christmas where the lead character is depressed. Linus’ reading from the bible, with just a touch of echo, is amazing. |

OMG I was a full-fledged adult working when Spongebob came out hahaha
I can’t name just one. Of course all the old-school Hannah-Barbera ones (to be fair I hadn’t been born when they came out! ) especially Top Cat- I think that was my favourite! I liked the Super Friends, Scooby Doo..

In Latin America we have a penchant for drama and suffering, as is well documented on telenovelas… so two Japanese anime series were DA BOMB in the 80s:
1) Candy Candy
2) Nobody’s boy: Remi
Man. Neither understood the assignment that cartoons are meant to be for FUN and enjoyment, but they were utterly addictive. So many Gen-Xers were scarred by them. Though Candy Candy is making a comeback with Gen-Zers and baby Alphas!

I have a soft spot for Superted, mostly because in 1989 my mate got me a job with Cartoon Cymru as a cell painter. We'd stay up for 24 hrs a time at home, pushing paint round stenciled acetate sheets fastened to a lightbox. it was piece work and we were making unbelievable amounts of money. |
