I think the next few races will be like that if the McLarens can nail quali and lock the front row. Their race pace is just too good at the moment. The only thing that will cause them issues is reliability - like the brake pedal issue at the end. Another lap and George would have an easy second. |

It’s very easy for people to say it was ‘boring’ just because there were no crashes, major incidents or significant overtakes up at the front runners. That’s a very basic and simple way to look at it.
Instead, look at how Bearman and Ocon drove in the Haas, the way they’ve turned it around since last week.
The battle between Hadjar and Doohan was good.
The risk of going on a two stop for Lewis….. Granted it didn’t pay off, but seeing him eat into Max’s time and seeing if the car was quick enough to catch lap by lap is entertainment.
Seeing how Leclerc handled a car with a majorly damaged front wing. Then how Lando was even keeping the car on the track for 6/7 laps was unreal. Even watching if Lawson could get anything from a radically altered Red Bull.
It’s not just about overtakes, it’s the strategy and intel behind it.

It’s got to be a bit galling if you are the Ferrari aerodymnamist responsible for that front end plate and seeing it made no difference to the car.

But there was no strategy today. All the front runners went for the same and that was simply dictated by the tyres. Everyone was running to a delta time, hoping that they preserved tyres whilst those around them didn't. None of the front runners could push and the alternative 2 stop strategy couldn't work either as there was the performance in the tyres over the time lost in the pits to make it worthwhile.
I don't really give 2 fucks about the minor teams. They simply make up the grid. I tune in to watch how the top 4 teams battle each other, not to.see where Hulkenburg or Lawson Finnish.
Bit hey ho! F1 isn't always interesting and most of the time races are pretty tedious.
Let's hope for some unpredictable weather in Japan to spice things up |

I am not surprised Lawson got the nod - they are desperate to give it to anyone but Yuki. I am surprised Lawson has imploded so quickly but that seat really is the widow maker of F1 careers. I could see them offering it to Yuki in Japan. Personally I would hope he sees sense and turns it down because I think he would most likely go the same way as everyone else in that seat and it is never good for your future although there would be an amazing amount of embarrassment for Helmut if Yuki did manage to actually make it work (not that Marko feels embarassment).
