Do you sometimes say things that are slightly confrontational to create a discussion or sometimes maybe you’re in a bad mood and want to pick a fight or say things for attention?
Maybe I’m a grumpy biker nowadays but I see this more and more especially in here at times but also at work etc |

Mostly I don’t, because mostly people aren’t interested in having ‘discussions’. To do that requires an open mind. Instead, I see lots of people with fixed opinions, and they’ll hate you forever if you express anything that doesn’t align to what they already believe. So mostly, I can’t be arsed, and I keep my controversial thoughts to myself. |

"There’s enough inane attention seeking in the forums, some debate would be a refreshing change. But it always disintegrates into squabbling, usually over some semantic point.
"
I disagree. It’s more bickering than squabbling over the semantic points. |

Let’s not forget the changing opinions to match whatever the (always always female) poster says. Yes I meant bickering don’t know why I said squabbling.
Now can I see your boobs? |

I'm not confrontational by nature so I don't make comments to start a row.
I do however read posts on here that are deliberately designed to do exactly that but are dressed up as something else.
Trolls can be subtle at times.
I've always said that I'm the sort to tell the emperor he's naked when so many others are admiring his new clothes just so they can stay relevant or keep within a particular circle.
Once in a blue moon I'll post when something makes me angry and I regret that because then it becomes more about me than the subject.
Over the years there have been some who claim they are open minded and willing to listen to opposing views but anyone with a ounce of sense and fair mindedness can see that they do anything but. |

"I mean, who would be so childish as to say controversial things just to watch the S H 1 T start flying, you wouldn’t see me doing anything like that. I’ll tell you…………ME!!!!
Yeah. "
I think you need to increase the dose rate on those pills |

I just say things as I see them not to pick a fight
Some people go out their way to say controversial things. I'm sure they don't believe half the things they say just sat it to get attention, even negative attention. Some just crave attention full stop |

Seems a number of things I say are controversial. I don’t pick fights if I'm in a bad mood, I just go away and deal with my shit. But when I do confront people it's because I can see blatant ignorance, toxicity or double standards. Or when people start on me for something I said, I know for a fact that they are projecting and I won't shy away from that level ignorance to show them they can't just pick on anyone and expect to put them down. I give it 10x harder than I get it. The mental Jiu Jitsu is stimulating for my brain for exercising critical thinking.
If I say something controversial, it's not even for rage baiting, I don't throw out cheap lures like that. Someone is gonna get offended by something regardless if it touches on sensitive subjects or where there prejudices. Most of the time it's to create open discussion for people to share ideas or experiences in the hopes to spread awareness. Sometimes it's just for banter and jokes that play on areas open to humour and satire. But someone is gonna get offended and project their shit eventually 🤷♂️ |
